Can someone send me the contact of his dad and what he said? I've always heard about it but never seen it on social media

Why? He’s hurt.
This post is embarrassing

It's more fun to believe the worst in an 18-year old kid. I'll give someone coming off a torn ACL the benefit of the doubt that there ::could:: be an issue.

If he never steps foot on the court in a Kentucky uniform again, he still played more than a lot of people on here predicted he would.

I don’t think it’s the kids character that’s the biggest issue.

Or, MAYBE, the guy who tried to rush back from an ACL injury is actually having setbacks. I’d even be willing to bet he’s not the first big guy who’s had issues recovering from an ACL tear.
I really think this might be the case. I have seen the kid rooting hard for his teammates. He played hard while he was out there. If he were 100%, I think he would be back. If I were his dad, and he tried to come back to early and reinjured it, I would probably make damn sure he was right before I let him go back out there

He will not have played because it was in his heart to do so.

I don't see a need to go there, op.

It might be in JQ's best financial interests to play in college next year. This draft is so unusually strong that he's now down to #13 in some mocks with guys like Acuff and others behind him that could pass him up. In other words, he might fall out of the lottery this year but would have a chance for #1 next year if he came back healthy and played well(and shows some offensive potential).

Lets do an experiment

All skeptics, go tear your ACL and keep a log on here on how your recovery is going. Let's see where you are after 9 months, 10 months, a year. Swelling in a knee is very common for basketball players who tore their ACL. Thats an awful lot of running, stopping, jumping, cutting.

JQ is also no small dude. He's 6ft 10, 260 pounds. That and his athletic ability puts that ACL through a real test on the court. Plus, he's already shown he was willing to play for this team. He really doesn't deserve the skepticism. Even if he's been paid,

Yup. Too extreme of a post from me after watching those guys fight tonight. For the record, I think this kid would be playing if it was entirely his decision. But other voices seem to be calling the shots. Hope it turns out well for him.

Take the These kids aren’t just playing for education and housing anymore. With monetary rewards, they should expect some scrutiny.

Just take the L and move on.. 🤣🤣🤣

All I know is his dad came out bitching about how he was being used, then literally a day or 2 later there’s swelling and he’s sitting. Fair to say I do not know what it going on. If it’s an injury I get it if it’s not, then that’s awful.
What

His dad came out bitching about how he was being used on X, then immediately he sits and doesn’t play and they say it’s swelling. Correlations doesn’t mean causation so who knows. But it gave me the impression it’s possible there’s a rift between JQ’s dad and Pope, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s sitting due to draft and wants to send a signal to scouts that he was only playing bad due to Mark using him wrong. But I don’t know, could just be weird timing.

I don't blame the kid. He is 20 years old with maybe 60 more years to live. Nobody is going to remember him five years from now in the state of Kentucky. He can take care of his grandkids grandkids with the money he is capable of making. He is a great athlete that can only lose money by playing . He is not going to learn how to shoot or make an offensive game in a month. Let the NBA have less reasons to drop his value. It's falling right now and showing more flaws is not going to help him.
