Yep, it's amazing how so many are self proclaimed insiders. This narrative about Franklin is simply off base but it gets repeated over and over and over again.

Scan every podcast, article and tweet. If someone says something negative about Franklin, it's your BWICAC duty to accept it as gospel. You’re not doing this right. You need to pick out a negative, even if one doesn’t exist, and dwell on that. At no point, do you give in and have a positive take on anything.
JoeMo came from Fordham. I learned many years ago...if you are a great teacher, you can coach.I'm sure others have mentioned this - but exciting offense and the Big 12 go hand in hand. Can he do the same in the Big 10 where there is much more of a premium placed on defense? Yurcich couldn't.
They're all busy heading to the portal.Any comments from the players yet?

Code for give the man a chance before the criticismOne doesn't have to try hard to be negative. It seems to be generally accepted as a good hire . Nothing is predictable...these are humans. Not light bulbs. I've seen 5 star prospects that should have been 3 stars. Humans making judgments about other humans.
Wow.He's in 8th grade. Yeah, you heard me right -- 8th grade.
Watch their body language and expressions. Not saying they are bad kids. Normal reactions for kids their age. That’s a lot of assumptions from a 30 second video clip.
That Nebraska’s strangleholdI think the biggest question with this hire, to me, is how this hire might affect our recruiting in the greater Topeka region.
What's the over/under date till we turn Kotelnicki into Eeeyore ?
Kotelnicki arrived that offseason from University of Mary, a Division II program in Bismarck, N.D. While the Wisconsin-Whitewater players were quick to adapt to the offensive coordinator’s non-stop energy, they had no idea what to say when Kotelnicki asked which coffee cup they were drinking out of.
Out came the visuals, and back to childhood they all went, with a quick refresher on Winnie the Pooh and friends.
“He had two coffee mugs. One with Eeyore on it and one with Tigger,” said Matt Behrendt, a former quarterback at Wisconsin-Whitewater, of the Disney characters. “His huge saying every day to the football team was what cup are you drinking out of today? Are you gonna be Tigger or Eeyore? Obviously Eeyore was the sad, I feel bad for myself one, while Tigger was all the energy and stuff. That was his biggest thing: What cup are you drinking out of? The guys loved that.”
The more I read about coach, the more I think he is an intriguing hire. in 2023 parlance, I hope he is him.
Bob has the Eeyore mug already. I'm trying to finish my S&H green stamp book but can't seem to find the stamps.Eeyore should be the official BWI mascot

Plus, the Wichita State Shockers have always been a good baseball team. Not Topeka, but Wichita, which gave us Barry Sanders and Gale Sayers. Toss in Bobby Douglass for those who like running QBs, though he was from Manhatten, KS.
And let’s not forget Wichita which is mentioned in Seven Nations Army.
I see the shocker on a lot of young kids rear windshield. They must be very popular.Plus, the Wichita State Shockers have always been a good baseball team.
I will wait to see the first play against WVU to decided whether Kotelnicki is a good coach.
Mildly entertaining but found myself tuning out about 1/2 way through. We have heard similar stuff before.![]()

Peach Bowl Media Day- Andy's soundbites are very Ted Lasso like.
He opened, before taking questions, with a story about getting a bike helmet for the first time as a kid growing up in Litchfield, Minnesota.
“You got a helmet for the first time, you started head-butting each other, right?’’ he said. “Running into trees and things like that.’’
His family was into hockey, and didn’t know much about college football. But his helmet was white, with a blue stripe down the middle.
“Sometime in the next year, I see in the paper or on TV that there’s a college football team wearing the same helmet,’’ he said. “That’s when I became a Penn State fan, because they wore the same helmet I did running into trees. I was an offensive lineman (in high school and college), but I started to think I was Curtis Enis.

Asked to describe an ideal balance between complexity and simplicity, he went straight to Dairy Queen. For a Blizzard.
“It’s a wonderful dessert, which we should all use in moderation. It looks complicated, because it’s messy inside. But fundamentally it’s just vanilla ice cream and your favorite candies, just two ingredients mixed together.
“So we want to make sure we have the vanilla part of our offense mastered to the point where it’s a solid foundation. When we mix in the good stuff, it’s going to make something awesome.’’
Pleased, he added, “That was off the top of my head, by the way.’’

OK, but only because it happens to rhyme with 'saw'.And let’s not forget Wichita which is mentioned in Seven Nations Army.
