A few of the post-game reviews were somewhat negative on Penn State result. Rutgers was a good DEF and set-up to handle many of what we do out of our OFF system. When they had the ball they have a very mobile QB who is more than happy to run on 3rd and long - and area that we have not always been solid at. We fire the OC and now have to setup how to manage the OFF game which has had challenges. This had all the makings of a problem game, and it pretty much happened.
The criticism around our QBs running the ball seems unfounded to me. With Drew at QB everyone has been saying he needs to be able to run some, which he started to do a few games ago. In fact in most of our drives that were successful, his runs were a key part of the success. Drew has to run and keep DEF off balance. Drew gets hurt, which can happen with QB runner. Pribula comes in and now an even more dynamic run game suddenly shows up. This includes the RBs who are now not getting hit in the backfield all of a sudden. I thought on the 21 yd gain by Nick he would be gone.
