We have always just rooted for laundry. I never thought it would reach the point where I didn’t know the names of the guys wearing said laundry. This really isn’t fun. Even if we find out tomorrow we landed every stud DL and OL and QB out of the portal,r it still won’t be fun. Sure, I will watch the games and enjoy state winning, but this is not college football
What it is is 2nd tier soccer in Europe, without contracts.

You need to get a grip. Those b***ards at TSUN have been at the forefront of the whole NIL era and we need to mimic them if we want to have any chance at building a winning program in the next 10 years. There is no "full of crap", money talks especially in this new era.
I’ve got a grip. It is what it is. Yes money talks, I’m not arguing that. They are still full of crap, they spent all of that money to play Duke in the Gator Bowl. Pay money but it still is a gamble. Bottom line, the point of my post was Oxford is still in Mississippi as is Starkville. They are not superior despite their narrative, most of their fans grew up across the street from most of State’s fans. They simply do a better job of working the system. Your post just proved my point, real American genius/ New member status poster.

So about this Lebby guy... he's the one right? All he needs is some cash, right?

You can thank the Supreme Court for opening the flood gates of this dumpster fire by not crafting some basic guidelines or limitations. Instead, we get the Second Amendment of college sports.

Right now you want to be a large public university in the South with a law school, med school, engineering school and good business school.

Based on the facts laid out in front of us, State will have to spend $15 million to make the Birmingham Bowl!

it's not up to the supreme court to craft guidelines. their job is to rule on the constitutionality of a case that is before them. it's up to Congress to craft legislation and the NCAA to set guidelines based on the legislation Congress passes and the President signs

At this point, if Lebby doesn't land Arnold, he's a lame duck just waiting out his final 11 months.
He needs to land a half dozen quality defensive & offensive linemen. It’s early but so far crickets chirping on even any rumors. Our football program needs a complete reboot. From Hutzler to Lebby to Selmon to our NIL coordinator. Really to Keenum too. We’re a 17ing joke all the way around. This could get a lot worse than even this season was quickly.

They’re doing everything right. But ultimately they’re not going to be able to compete with the top half of the SEC in this NIL era. They’ll be mid pack vs us maybe fighting Vandy or Kentucky for last if we’re lucky.

I’ll never be able to remember another players name on our team, because they’ll never be there from one year to the next.
Imagine how Coleman feels. It’ll be his fourth stop in the same amount of years! His transcript is gonna be busy.
I thought schools required more than one year to get a diploma from said school. Is that not the case? I mean, if he was really worried about a diploma.

I think it’s safe to say he’s not in college for the education.

Not related to Coleman, but in general does the NCAA even require players to maintain academic eligibility anymore? I have no idea. Used to hear about it all the time but since NIL became the primary topic of discussion I don’t remember hearing about anybody being academically ineligible. I guess if you only stay for part of a semester you’d move on before you flunk out anyway.

No, the blame is with NCAA, college presidents and AD’s for burying their head in the sand about revenue sharing all while they raked in billions. There were many opportunities to put a fair system in place and they acted like there were no issues.

Going into the Portal, ain't necessarily leaving, now days, it's testing the water. Then maybe leaving.
He's going to Mizzou, closer to his home in St Louis. I don't know his family situation, but maybe he has a kid there. But, yes, Mizzou allegedly has been tampering with him for a month or so, and threw a good number out there to him.

pay board says he's heading to Mizzou, to be closer to home. idk how accurate that is

Call me BA She Mate Me, but I just have a bad attitude about all of this portal and NIL BS.

This will be his 4th new school in 4 years.

I simply and officially just don't give a **** anymore. I'll always hope we are competitive in football, but I can't support any of this.

Living in the poorest state in the union doesn’t help these situations. No vision. No hope. Kids take the first bus out of town. I can’t blame them. I’d go as far as humanly possible from this shitthole.
Especially the Golden Triangle area. I live here and it’s my least favorite part of the state.

Don't care. This was my last year as a season ticket holder anyway. College football is done.
Me too. First time since 2008(we all remember that year) that I didn't attend any games, and I'm probably done for good. Not fun watching or trying to keep up with this portal crap, and I've been a huuuuuuuuuuge State/College football fan my entire life. It's dropped well below the NFL(Packers) and MLB(Reds) on my give a crap list. Maybe if we had leadership, direction, and were worth a crap at this NIL/portal stuff I'd think differently. Don't know because we ain't worth a shite at it.

We’re now a farm team. Bigger schools will cherry pick the players we develop/find each and every year. The sooner the delusion subsides with y’all and you accept that, the easier it’ll be.
Yes if we continue to run common scheme on offense and defense. But if we committed to niche schemes that are much less common, then that would cut down on this happening, because successful players in niche schemes dont necessarily translate to what those bigger schools might be doing offensively and defensively.

So much for building around him, craver and mvb. This is really making not give a 17 about college football anymore.
If we continue to run common schemes as the bigger school on offense, this is going to continue to happen every year. A less common niche system or scheme would cut down on this, and then you build and develop talent. Until we understand this here, and think guerrilla warefare instead of trying to be a great value version of everyone else.

I’m pretty much there. A complete roster flip every offseason is not entertaining to me.
Common schemes offensively and defensively, yes this will happen to us every year. Great vaule version and farm system for the bigger schools that are running similar schemes. Thus our talented and successful players easily translate to the bigger schools common schemes. So if we went against the grain and did things differently from everyone else, this complete roster flip wouod be less likely to happen. Not to mention it wouodnt cost as much. We wouod or could get more bang for the bucks. It’s the only way there is no other option. Otherwise, roster flip every year.

I noticed as of this moment none of the guys that interred the portal from MSU has committed or sign with another school. I am thinking most will end up at a g5.
