Norvell likes to have big receivers. He had a guy at Memphis who was a 6'8" WR.....a real nightmare mismatch for DBs. He would throw it to them in the corner of the endzone just like he has tonight. Like taking candy from a baby.

I like Norvell, but Fuente did the same thing at Memphis. Prior to this NIL, it shouldn’t have been that hard to do well at Memphis. Easy schedule and tons of talent around. Just offer all the kids who are good enough athletically but not academically for sec schools. That’s basically what Fuente and Norvell did. And then be a good coach.
ETA: Prior to Fuente, or Tommy West’s parting speech, Memphis wasn’t willing to put any resources into football. Probably because Calipari had the athletic department by the balls.
