Nope. There’s a stark difference between verbal altercations and physical. The person who turned it physical was Johnson. Cardoso definitely went too far with the physicality but someone talking trash isn’t a legitimate reason to excuse Johnson making it physical.

Not to mention I think saying she “charged” her is a little much. She got in her face.
so if I came and got in your face you wouldn't push me out of it???....I kinda got the feeling you wouldn't which is sad

Lol ok guy. I can see you’re taking this very personal. This isn’t about what would’ve or should’ve happened. This is about who is ultimately at fault, which if I might add I’d say is the refs. Players got away with way too much throughout the game that led up to emotions getting out of control in that moment. But that still doesn’t take away from the fact that the line of what’s acceptable and unacceptable has to get drawn somewhere, and to me that line is when it turns from verbal to physical. I could in the same sense say that, mentally, you seem soft as wet toilet paper if you can’t take a little trash talk without losing your head.

Here’s the strange thing. Mulkey’s Baylor teams were very good , always competitive, and won several natties. They were not known as physical intimidators… they hustled, rebounded, played good defense, and could run the court. Griner was nowhere near the cheap shot artist that Reese is. So Mulkey didn’t bring this with her from Baylor. Then she comes to LSU, and Reese transfers from Maryland (which was a decent, well-coached team). My guess: Reese wasn’t getting the freedom at Maryland to play bully ball, and Mulkey was willing to green light it, because Reese has serious rebounding and defensive skills, and scores well in the paint. The NIL money sealed the deal. YMMV…
This does seem to make sense.

I wouldn't necessarily think that.

Same. Women’s basketball is being pushed HARD. And it’s no secret that even though many would call it “ugly,” this rough and tough and even the shoving match draws attention and ratings. So, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it was a concentrated effort to let what could be seen as “little things” like that go. Of course, it did rear its ugly head later on unfortunately.

Better yet, why is it you don’t see the same behavior from our girls against any other team. Yet you see this behavior from LSU in all games? Just saying.

Two wrongs don’t make a right. Also, as I tell people in heated instances, don’t confuse my “niceness for weakness”

Sorry, Don Lemon was not on CNN to give us the real news🤪
Where is that world class journalist that blamed literally anything he saw differently as RACIST. Oh, I forgot CNN canned his a$$! Both the left (many more outlets) and the right, dish out narratives that their viewing audience TUNES INTO HEAR. I watch a little of all, except MSNBC (totally useless and as far left as possible, they have the female version of Don Lemon in Joy Reid, and that well known ‘journalist’ Al Sharpton, that quite frankly should be in Federal Custody for evading millions in taxes owed)! Talk about two morons that blame every issue on RACISM, there’s two for sure.

The ‘news’ ain’t the news anymore. It’s primarily narrative and agenda driven opinions delivered by talking heads that wouldn’t know what professional, and unbiased TV journalism was if it came up and kicked them in the butt.

No longer any Walter Cronkites out there.

News Nation at least attempts to present the news down the middle, even though they hired Chris Cuomo. I’ll watch that channel for a view from the left and the right. Not perfect, but at least they are giving the middle concept a try!!

Your direct quote is that Dawn does not allow taunting. I don’t care who started it, but that is a contradiction to your original statement. Once again, I don’t have a problem with taunting one way or another, but it simply doesn’t jive with what you originally said. Unless you want to revise that statement that Dawn doesn’t allow our players to “start the antics.”
I should have put “normally” in front of it. It’s the rare exception, not the rule. But you either knew what I meant or you never watch our games over these past years.

Surprised he doesn’t shout racist or homophobia…..that’s the fallback when u have no factual points.
Yep. Grew up in the 60s….you know how hard it is seeing the the bs people focus on today? These poor down trodden 25 yeat olds.

I get what you’re saying, but this year’s team is very different. I have no issues with how this team plays the game, but they do a little talking most games. Especially the big games. So, past years has nothing to do with this team this year.

It was going on from the beginning. They had a clear objective from the tip: beat the hell out of KC down low. She was catching elbows to the face, having her hair pulled, etc…Early in the game you can see Reese saying “all f’n day” right after she slams into KC. What KC did was uncalled for, but I get it. And if I were DS I wouldn’t say a damn thing to her about it except to play smarter and move on.

Also, there’s a funny video floating around X where Mulkey is praising Reese for retaliating against a smaller player in defense of her teammate. Everything about that program is trash, and shouldn’t be any more than an afterthought for us.
Losers gonna hate. How much did people hate Bama when it was a well-oiled machine?

I agree it isn't talked about enough that Cardoso was specifically targeted. Why didn't they cheapshot Watkins? Because they knew Ashlyn wouldn't put up with it. She would straight up be ready to fight.
