Couple points. I love Pink Floyd, about as much as I live Springsteen. No desire to see them at the Super Bowl than Springsteen though.
second point, I have somehow blocked posts from you. I have no idea how this happened or how I fix it. Anybody know? I’ve never blocked anybody before.
Meh. You are probably better off ignoring me.

I heard she covered 12 songs in 13 minutes. I don't know any of her songs....just not my style. The dancing yeti's were cool until my 20 something told me they were supposed to be sperm.

I think the view of the entirety of the show would have been much better than focusing on Rhianna. All the dancers and the multiple stages had to be pretty cool......even for an old guy like me who was constantly yelling at the TV to get off my lawn.

That is the thing that many don't seem to grasp. This is a 15 minute shortened version of a show and not for any bands target audience. There are some bands or artists that I can listen to, but I wouldn't pay to see them. This dumb notion that everyone will like a Superbowl half time show is crazy. Oh wait....older folks don't like a younger generations music or the dancing they are doing....well that has never happened before. Elvis and his daring to move his hips....how the world went on is amazing to me. ;)

We all get there eventually but the old men yelling at the clouds are just that. Most overrated thing about a Super Bowl is the opinions of a half time show. I sat through it...it was fine. I wasn't running out to a Rhianna show prior and the needle didn't get moved. She clearly has talent based on her library and hits she has produced...not a knock on her at all. I loved Mars' show a few years back, but I'm not paying to see him either. It's 15 minutes of over-hyped orchestrated shows that some people tend to get fake outraged over.
In full disclosure I turned it and watched the newest episode of All Creatures Great and Small. 🤷‍♂️ :ROFLMAO:
To your other point about listening to bands but not paying to see them live I agree 100%.
I am a big Death Cab for Cutie fan but I would never pay to see them live.

practically every year, the board has a lot of complaints, and some compliments, about that year's Super Bowl halftime show. And those usually also include thoughts on prior halftime shows at the Super Bowl.

Please use this thread for discussion of Rihanna's halftime show at the LVII Super Bowl. I'm trying to keep that discussion out of the Super Bowl game thread.
If this is the kind of garbage society likes today, then I see why this country is going down the toilet.

Yeah, remember when Elvis moved his hips or those damn rock and roll bands had long hair and drank/did drugs 40+ years ago. They ruined society forever because your generation didn't stop it. LOL

I didn't watch much because I knew it wouldn't be for me. I'm OK with that. The little that I saw looked like a Chinese Olympic Opening Ceremony - lots of inscrutable gesticulation. I guess it's like TD celebrations too.

Akin to last year's 90s rap group effort...it would work.

I saw a funny tweet this morning that showed a picture of her surrounded by the dancers with the caption “Chinese balloons spying on Rhianna”

I still think Weird Al would put on a hell of a half time show but only if he played his classics with the original singers or the songs he spoofs.

Or, you know, have sex with her. Yours is a bizarre comment. She's 34 years old. Just had her first kid not too long ago. Why make this comment?
Seven months ago is a bit soon I would say, but it was a joke. Sorry if that went over your head.

This has been said by every generation about the younger generations, since humans figured out languages and formed societies.

Early man was probably bitching about how the young kids nowadays use sharp objects to kill things, and how, when they were kids, they learned how to smash things with blunt objects, like they're supposed to be smashed.

WTF dude?

Naughty By Nature had a string of hits and a decently long career. How dare you besmirch the Naughty name like that.

Sure, whatever you say.

And you think that she didn’t have ANY say in the show? If she had confidence in her own talent she might have toned things down. Maybe she doesn’t believe that she’s as good as you might believe. Just sayin.
Eh --- sure.

Agree. I used to hear the same thing from my mom and dad in the 60's and 70's.

Chris Isaac had more than one “hit,” I believe. And Human League definitely had at least 2. Anyway, add Dexy’s Midnight Runners and the Weather Girls to that list, and I’m good.
