Marshall vs JMU, Sluggo, your thoughts?

I’d like to but I got Dad duty. Better half is doing cancer follow up tests with our daughter who is at college out west. Daughter had chemo this past spring and doing well but my wife is meeting with doctors.

Go Dukes! Future step-daughter (FSD) is a freshman there. Went to the South Alabama game a few weeks ago. Packed stadium (~25K), nice little tailgate scene. People are really into their team there. We grilled pork roll and eggs and made breakfast sandwiches for the FSD and her friends, mostly from VA.

My son is also a freshman at JMU, and we know several kids from his HS music program that are now in the JMU marching band. We went out for the Bucknell game, and my impressions were much like yours. It's a very good teaching school, and a great community. The front seven of the Dukes' defense has impressed me. They worry about the secondary, but they create so much pressure that it hasn't cost them a game, yet.

Good info @CF Lion & @OaktonDave. Inconsequential tidbit in the big scheme of life: I was offered a schollie to play baseball at JMU a very long time ago. We never visited but I have seen photos of the campus. Sounds like this year's football team is really good. Like I said, most teams don't run over Georgia Southern like they did last week.
JMU has been a force since arriving on the FBS scene. It is insane that they can't play for a conference championship or in a bowl game still. Dumb rule.
I dont know that anyone understands the reason why in all of that.
Did I hear correctly that Jacksonville State can’t play in a bowl either? Agreed, weird rules.

I was thinking of you when it went to 6-2. You had to be thinking how man, we may have another 6-4 experience.
JMU has a defense plus the punter-wow. It was one of those nights. Starting RB announced out at gametime. Then, the pick after the safety, there was a big swing in the game imho. The injury and stoppage in play was tough as well. Again, it was one of those nights is the best way to describe it.
lol actually it didnt, I was just hoping the Phillies could get to 3-2 or something!!
