He posted on Twitter: “Game ain’t based on sympathy! Do what’s best for you.” and has removed “RB at South Carolina” from his bio.

Transfer I think. Has he really shown enough for NFL? NFL is mostly a pass league, not sure he fits that right now. IMO his ability as a runner doesn't warrant a draft pick in rounds 1-4.
He just recently posted to gamecock nation to help him recruit an Alabama offensive lineman in the portal to USC. That doesn't sound like transfer or he's leaving at all.

I heard he's transferring to Maryland. I also heard speculation that a lot of NIL money was involved. I'm only reporting what I heard. I haven't done a deep dive on this, having been tied up at church all evening.

He erased all mentions of anything Gamecocks and had that same Alabama linemen replying to his latest post with "so where we going?"

I was hoping he'd return, but, honestly, I don't know how massive of a loss it is. He missed a whole year for injury. He was never 100% last year. This year, he missed basically 1/3 of the season for injury. I liked how he ran and was always hopeful to see him get a full season here 100% healthy, but he's not leaving a gaping hole simply b/c of injury limitations.

Lot of tampering going on. I believe this is beyond repair. It’s going to be hard to keep momentum each year when teams come and buy your players and sell them on the grass is greener.

This is far worse than Free Agency in the pros.
Agree.
ESPN tells everyone how great paying players is and everyone believes it.
College football was much more fun years ago.

ESPN is part of the media propaganda. They just generally stick to their niche - which is sports. But the propaganda comes through loud and clear if you know what you're looking for. That's all I have to say about that.

There's always a chance of that. Hard to be sure of that sort of thing.

Just curious with Bell's departure and now Marshawn. Maybe there was a reason Bell was getting so few reps there for a while? It seemed very, very odd to everyone that it took so long for Marshawn to come back from his bruise. Maybe it wasn't just the injury?

After such a unpredictably positive end to the season with a seemingly bright future ahead, the moves just seem odd.

I'll buy em from you... hit me up @Cocky_Mike_ on Twitter
I wouldn't know how to do twitter if someone put a gun to my head....& I'm pretty sure my wife & children would stone me if I told them I was selling the tickets. I'm going for the game. They're all excited for a 5 night trip of doing stuff & eating out.

Next year doesn't concern me. I was hoping to have as many bullets in our gun as possible for the bowl game. 9-4 capped by a win over Notre Dame sure would carry the program & fan base a long way.

Our RB situation for the bowl is pretty bleak.

A lot of people who were pushing for this (NIL and other ideas for paying players) are having second thoughts. It is the ruination of the sport.

I'm not yet used to these new rules regarding transfers and portal. There is just no stability on rosters any longer. I suppose that's an advantage for non-traditional powers to strengthen their rosters overnight. I can only imagine how much Steve Spurrier would have agonized over this if he was coaching today, considering how much he hated to recruit.

Spurrier would have refused to coach college football under the shroud of the transfer portal & NIL greed.

He is going to another school. I doubt he is Pro Ready, especially with running backs being so fungible.
IF he's going to MD as someone else suggested....well, have fun. I went to a MD game last year and the environment sucks. Completely second rate compared to SEC.

His legacy here will be one of unrealized potential, mostly due to injury, which isn't his fault. Some guys just have that luck.

I'd probably leave were I him too. He has had such injury bad luck here, I would think a change of venue would be understandable. If he leaves I harbor no bad will against him. He is definitely unrealized potential due to injury.

This has to be about NIL money and being closer to home. He has said on camera many times, even when plagued by injuries and not on the field, how much he loves it at SC. This year was his first healthy really, and he became a difference maker with a bright future. He gets hurt again towards the end of the season….and now may transfer to MD of all places? No one goes to that cesspool of a program on purpose…has to be money.

And if he’s leaving for the NFL, I wish him well and I can understand as a RB. The passion, fan support, the primary focus he was getting were second to none. Not Beamer’s fault he got hurt again. Strange days we are in.

He is officially in the portal. If he goes to MD, I hope he has fun playing in a boring environment. Went to a game there last season, and it's about on par with Vandy, but with more people. Just a boring, boring, boring environment.

Reality is, in 2 seasons of play, he only registered 800 rushing yards. He mostly leaves behind a lot of "what ifs".

Hell no it’s not…..play the Twiddy kid and the grad transfer that looked damn good in the spring. Ju ju aint going anywhere…..he loves his team and school. He is true Gamecock. Heck with all the malcontents. Cause a transfer is usually a malcontent. We aren’t talking about great talent beat out by someone better, we’re talking about starters who are featured on a team with a bright future leaving. That’s a malcontent. I think quitter fits in many cases. Not saying that’s Lloyd, but if he goes to MD….quitter in my book.

I heard that same analogy several years ago….said it was a strange environment.

This goes back to a question I asked: could it be that Shane is doing a bit of house cleaning?

Could be an answer to why Bell was inexplicably left out of the game plan week-in, week-out and why it took so long for Marshawn to recover from a "bruise."
