I just thought your post bordered on rambling incoherence, and you're a much better poster than that.
Which part in particular was either confusing or rambling? Maybe someone else can fill me in.

Well that is certainly one way to look at it. The other is he suddenly had all that free time on his hands. Just an absolute terrible combination with his mental illness, the sudden and massive amount of time he had at such a critical developmental moment, the missed warning signs, etc etc.
Yes, it's information, but I also see it as an easy way out. His name is Payton Gendron - if his name were Mohammed Ahmed - he would not get the same courtesies.I most certainly am not giving him a pass, he deserves the chair. His family members noticed a change at the beginning of the pandemic. It's information, whether you agree, disagree, or any other view. If you think you know this crazy stranger, all his motives, how he got there, knock yourself out. If you think there were no consequences to the pandemic response, either intentional or unintentional, knock yourself out.
Spot on. A common trait of social and political extremists and manipulators is a focus on external villains that are the source of all problems. If one creates a "good" us, that "good" is amplified by creating an "evil" them. From there, one receives a purpose - "defending" the good us by destroying the evil them. It may not start out that way, but sooner or later the thought process leads to the same thing - a list of victims' names.Yes, it's information, but I also see it as an easy way out. The formula is there - and this goes for any extreme group - you create a message that resonates with someone, so they have a sense of identity, and a sense of belonging. And part of that sense of belonging is based on a premise that there are factors or groups that are out to destroy your sense of identity.
Frankly, Charlie Manson, Adolf HItler and Jim Jones, among others, were masters at this. Edit - they prey on the weak minded. Which is not the same thing as having mental issues.
I do agree that there were, and still are, consequences of the pandemic. Everyone had to deal with it. Not all like this.

The kids from suburbia ARE terrorists. No reason to split the difference.
Why did he suddenly have too much time on his hands? Whose fault was that?

The point being, it doesn't matter if he changed during the pandemic. Life circumstances change all the time. "Triggers" are everywhere. This is the kind of thing that is only being brought up by those around him to deflect blame from him, specifically ... and by others to deflect blame from actual problem areas, because this is the game that has become fashionable since 2016.
Agree. I would only differ in that I think excuses for bad behavior as a means to deflect blame was fashionable long before 2016.The point being, it doesn't matter if he changed during the pandemic. In general, obviously, that's true. What I was referencing was a certain phenomenon in a certain sphere of our lives by a certain group of people. And I'll just leave it at that.Agree. there will still be those who will defend him- or deny that it even happenedThey're saying he picked out the location based on the zip code with the highest African American population, and scoped it out for several months.
Birds aren't real!!!!!there will still be those who will defend him- or deny that it even happened
Ahhhh Pastafari....ever living, ever loving!!!!!Flying spaghetti monsters?
And brainwashed. Here are definite possibilities in regards to his mental illness. If one looks at many of the family pics that were online, he appeared to be a very dour young man
antisocial, psychopathic, narcissistic or paranoid personality disorder.
and he was familiar with left wing politicians talking about overruning the country
Now they I have your attention tell me if you think this is an insensitive, dumb or bad joke:Maybe.
what in hell are you talking about? So, NY has a red flag law and didn't use it, he went online 30 minutes before starting and detailed his plans in great detail in a chat, he was an environmentalist, and he was familiar with left wing politicians talking about overruning the country.
Sure it's insensitive. The funniest stuff usually is.Now they I have your attention tell me if you think this is an insensitive, dumb or bad joke:
I heard Madison Cawthorn lost his seat.
No he didn’t -he wheels it around with him wherever he goes.
Further proof he is clueless.what in hell are you talking about?
what in hell are you talking about?
It is clear what he did before the attack, he wrote his reasons down, ahole. If you don't want to know what he did before the attack, don't read.

So, NY has a red flag law and didn't use it, he went online 30 minutes before starting and detailed his plans in great detail in a chat, he was an environmentalist, and he was familiar with right wing "news entertainers" talking about a BS conspiracy theory of the left overruning the country. Those words were uttered HUNDREDES of times by these same night time news "entertainers".
FIFY....you're welcome.
I corrected it again...no problem at all. I'll stop though as it's clear that some people are fine with the gaslighting. Best to place those people on ignore as they don't like the reality of what is going on so they'll blame others or a pandemic as it's just more convenient than dealing with it.You can decide for yourself how important the information is, but are you really trying to say the right wing news organizations didn't say the conspiracy theory over 400 times? Look, people can decide how important this detail is, but to deny it? You really cannot deny it as it was said nightly to spin up idiots like this racist POS. You know like the people who wanted to use the pandemic as an excuse.

EXPLAINER: White 'replacement theory' fuels racist attacks
Investigators are still piecing together the motives of the mass shooter who killed 10 people at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, this weekend.apnews.com
What is the 'great replacement' and how is it tied to the Buffalo shooting suspect?
The suspect allegedly wrote a 180-page document filled with hateful rants about race and ties to the conspiracy theory, "great replacement."www.npr.org
A Fringe Conspiracy Theory, Fostered Online, Is Refashioned by the G.O.P.
Replacement theory, espoused by the suspect in the Buffalo massacre, has been embraced by some right-wing politicians and commentators.www.nytimes.com
If you first heard it 10 years ago, then you first heard it decades too late.If that makes you feel better. I first remember Obama stating this more than 10 years ago.
You know, at times like this, and with subject matters like this, I miss the days of the old board, when guys like Mt.Nittany would want to light it up in a fierce battle of wills and belief systems.
