Sorry, this is a terrible take. This from the school with the universally worst reputation for fan behavior toward visiting teams? Consider the source.
What if James did this? This board would burn down. This appears to be a nothingburger and there is nothing to suggest anything untoward by Rhule. Interestingly, it appears the Nebraska media seem to like Rhule and actually feel he is too nice at times.
So that makes it ok to refuse to shake hands before the game? This from the school with the universally worst reputation for fan behavior toward visiting teams? Consider the source.
Poor treatment begets poor treatment. It’s not how I would have handled things, but I understand how it can happen. So that makes it ok to refuse to shake hands before the game?
Nope, that was Maryland that refused.Am I misremembering that Iowa players refused to shake hands with PSU players one year under Ferentz? Honest question.
So now Success with Honor is out the window? I'm confused.Poor treatment begets poor treatment. It’s not how I would have handled things, but I understand how it can happen.
I’m sure there is a lot more here than what is being reported.
I think it's possible Ruble addressed it .... but his fast talking made it impossible for anyone to decipher it.I don't blame him for them doing it...but I can't believe Rhule didn't address it (or it least didn't in anything that I've seen) in his postgame comments.
I didn’t say that. But Nebraska was never a success with honor program. It was always win at all costs. So now Success with Honor is out the window? I'm confused.
“I’m sure Matt would have done some things differently,” why do you think this? At least the Maryland coach apologized for his players not shaking hands. It’s early, but I won’t let Rhule off the hook yet.I didn’t say that. But Nebraska was never a success with honor program. It was always win at all costs.
I’m sure Matt would have done some things differently, but don’t hold Nebraska to too high a bar.

He is turning Nebraska around? Really? As a Penn Stater, I'm proud to see that Matt Rhule (also a Penn Stater) turning Nebraska around. If the Nebraska media think Rhule is "too nice," then he probably is. Who knows what precipitated the pre-game non-handshake.![]()
In circles, like a dog chasing its tail.He is turning Nebraska around? Really?![]()
Classless. This surprises me coming from Rhule, I'd have thought he's better than this.
Post game hecklers vs. pregame classlessness are two very different things in my opinion. But James would get torched by SWH guys and you can't deny that.C’mon - James has yelled at students on at least two occasions; we survived.

Right now I’m thinking he didn’t know about it beforehand, which is why he didn’t talk about it after the game. He’ll address it soon enough. It will be interesting to hear Rhule’s answers when questioned about this. I saw the quick interview they did with him before the game and he was jovial, even complimented Iowa’s crowd and the atmosphere as they were about to kickoff. The childish handshake stunt was odd.

SWH??But James would get torched by SWH guys and you can't deny that.
I figured this post would bring you out of the woodwork. You've been behaving far too long. Can we count on drunk posts later?SWH??
Sweetheart?
Solar Water Heater?
Southwest Harbor?
Significant Wave Heights?
Sheraton Waikiki Hotel?
When there aren't any weeds to whack do you shovel/plow snow?I figured this post would bring you out of the woodwork. You've been behaving far too long. Can we count on drunk posts later?

Some of us have not forgotten Randy Edsall's ***hole move.Nope, that was Maryland that refused.
