I had a feeling that this was the case. Some people why have a lot of influence it seems, did not like CML and have still not admitted it. He was his own boss and some one never could accept that.
It was sort of funny that I found myself agreeing with the things that he said. We were the same age and I know what it’s like professionally to constantly have to deal with the same good old boy circle.
It seems that they got to run things finally and did a marvelous job.

You cannot say it was terrible. It was designed to use clock and succeeded in that. That was classic Leach. Won 9 without a great roster. His method had survived 20-plus years of testing.
And was very good with Minshew just a few years ago and would have been very good again with Locke and Parson. just as it was with Graham Harrell and several others.
Well any Head Coach who is legit is going to tell them to stay away from the program just as Leach did, if you notice he got rid of Peterson right away.
I don’t really care about this argument but ball control is not a winning way in 2023. You need chunk plays. Not to mention we were bottom half of the league in TOP last year. So let’s not hire someone that utters the words “ball control”

I really hope you’re right. We need a coach who will be in charge of everything and everyone knows it. I follow the NFL more than college football so I don't have any candidates to put forward. I would just caution you about gimmick coaches because when everyone else figures out how to beat you and it's not pretty. We need to overhaul our program. Build a progam that players and parents want to be in.
Agree, it in today’s game you have to throw the ball. it’s not 20 years ago, you can’t find some diamonds in the rough and out physical the sec. Need a system that leverages talent. I would stay away from unproven coordinators. I think to get someone with a good system and experience you are going to have to open the checkbook. leach was ideal, but not many guys who enjoy coaching at outposts.

We’ve got multiple people in this thread saying Matt is flat wrong about something he said concerning players/staff. Please tell us how you know so. What makes you more of an authority on what coaches/players were saying than Matt? Did you talk to the coaches/players personally and they told you different? Which coaches/players did you talk to?
