from december 21st and when Yancy asks Sanders about his standing with MSU Sanders sussposedly said:

"They have been going good too, but it seems like they try too hard." "They don't have to come by all of the time. Sometimes they come when I am tired, like right after I get done playing a basketball game or something. They just try too hard it seems." These were 2 little snippets but damn you'd have to wonder if this is real or just Yancy ******** I've never really heard stuff like this from a recruit before.

Sanders has committed to Ole Miss, if that tells you anything about the content of Yancy's article.

That's a good thing to here we're trying to hard. That means our coaches are working their asses off. Sanders is impossible to get a read on. I saw him talking to Melvin Smith once and Melvin was hugging him and had a hand on his shoulder and laughing and Sanders was just smiling. He never says a word. We have obvious made the impression that we want him badly. That to me is a good thing. We have alot of young WRs so our depth chart probably isnt' that appealing to him. I think we're in good shape. It's 50/50 for both schools right now. If anyone tells you other wise they're wrong.

Did he commit before or after he played some basketball? Because, he gets pretty tired after he plays some b-ball. He sure looks like a baller.

From what I've read, I think Sanders is Yancy's second secret commit, the one that's going to announce on signing day, with Martin being the not-so-secret commit to announce on Christmas.

At least I assume that's who Yancy is referring to, whether he's right or not. He basically said the same things with Patterson last year that he's saying with Sanders. We'll see if it plays out the same. He and Thompson will likely be the ones that get the fans in the most uproar this year either way. Should be entertaining.

Stansbury wouldn't be able to recruit worth squat.

Good to hear that about the current staff.

from both Thompson and Sanders, but these really are positions that we are beginning to have depth in. If they look at our depth chart and see that there is going to be competition and it makes them look at other schools, then that gives me insight into their thoughts of their talent and their willingness to compete. This is what makes schools like Alabama and florida great: they have an abundance of talent at almost all positions and the competetion is fierce.

For what it is worth, I use the term special very rarely and at WR, Michael Carr is special. For the recruiting services to call him a 3 star only points out the complete waste of relying on the star system. At 6'1", 200 and 4.4 speed, everything he does is effortless and is the best WR I have ever seen on the high school level. That includes Sanders and Bumphis.

catvet, that's good to hear. I think that by and large, the star system is pretty good, but there are certainly some guys that you watch on the field and can simply tell they're underrated or overrated by the recruiting sites. For instance, while Rennie Curran was a 4-star recruit for UGA, I saw him play in the semifinals of the highest classification in Georgia his senior year, and he was the best high school player I've ever seen. He looked like an absolute can't-miss 5-star player to me, and he has been that for Georgia. Some guys have obvious disadvantages when translating to the next level, i.e. height or speed or something else, but it sounds like Carr has it all; a very good pickup for us.

I'm not really into recruiting but it seems to me that human relations require some timing and empathy. If our recruiters are a pain in the *** to recruits we want, it may not be so great. It's also not too impressive to use every little opportunity to take pot shots at the previous coach, but get your jollies any way you wanna.
