The Coast isn't really similar. It's got jobs but they aren't tech, as we think about it. All the Stennis workers live in Louisiana, and Ingalls is Ingalls. Coast is just its own animal, honestly. Plus, every 35 years, you're going to have to rebuild. Honestly, what the Coast is, is a 'decent' area to live and work in MS if you like the water, and a 'decent' tourism spot with food/casinos/water.

If we want to create a NWA, it's honestly got to be in NE MS. But like everything else in MS, we're so spread out there. Oxford-Tupelo-Starkville all an hour away from each other. The advantage NWA has is that, 1 - Ole Miss and MSU are combined with everything, and 2 - all the towns are close together. Starkville and Columbus are farther apart than Fayetteville (southernmost) to Bentonville (northernmost), which make up NWA.

I'm almost resigned to the idea that MS is just going to have to go a whole different direction. We're already so behind.
Sound logic on the NE MS corridor. Sad part is it’ll take *years* to get it accomplished. However…..

….you have to start somewhere. And it needed to start yesterday

I don't know her but have friends that have worked with her. They are pretty intelligent dudes and they were fairly impressed with her. I don't think she is a tech genius but she is bright enough to see the big picture and get good people to help her.

NWA $$$$ also helps.

Again, if she were Sarah Smith from Anywhereville USA, then she would have done none of those things. Do you really think she would have been the president’s press secretary had she been Sarah Smith? She started on third base like most nepo babies do. Nice dig on the test thing though I will give you that all day. For the record, I would not be afraid to take that test against anyone, including her. What I do not like about her is the same thing I do not like about any nepo babies, of any political leanings, they all start on third base and act like they did something. I have had to work for everything that I have, and you are right it is not on the level that she has been gifted but at least I have earned it.

This is why our kids are leaving and not coming back. If Arkansas can do it, we can. The fact that we haven't made Joe Max Higgins the state director of economic development and given him free rein is so Mississippi.

“In 2023, the Center for Cyber Education was recognized at the 2023 Global CS Education Conference with an award for Mississippi being number one nationwide for increasing computer science enrollment. In 2015, fewer than 20 teachers reported teaching computer science classes. By the 2023-2024 school year, the number of teachers had risen to 2,987, and the number of students enrolled in computer science classes had climbed from fewer than 100 students in 2015 to 156,494.”

Holt up - is it now a bad thing for someone to not speak to the press for extended periods of time???

I'd like to introduce you to a couple of people currently holding high offices.

/sorry, NB4DL
Is it bad for the press secretary to not speak with the press at daily press briefings?
...yes, yes that is bad.

More likely whoever her father told her to put into the job. She is a nepo baby if there ever was one. Again, I am not trying to cast aspersions on conservatives in anyway just this one particular person.
I'd be willing to bet she is a hell of a lot smarter than someone who loves the satanic cultism like you do. 😎
She constantly lied, was called out on the lies, and then lied about lying.
She didnt even hold a press briefing for the last 3 months of being...Press Secretary. Instead of having her actually meeting with the press, Trump decided to take over and hold his own press briefings at random times of the day in random places.
...over 3 months of not holding press briefings, but sure- she more than held her own.**
She is a much better human being than you. But you are an extremely low standard to hold her against!

Psst. It is turning blue. The urbanization of the state virtually assures it. All those "right wing" California aholes move to the suburbs and raise their little douchè canoe kids that grow up to be yuppies.

No real conservative pays another man to mow his yard. Those California dbags pay people to mow, pick up dog poop, clean their grills (gas and pellet of course), clean their garbage cans, hang their Christmas lights, and install their blinds. They drink peanut butter whiskey and hard seltzers in public. They aren't raising Texans, they're raising sissies.

2 or 3 more cycles will probably do it. Remember, Reagan was the governor of California and from 1967 to 2011 Republicans held 8 of the 11 gubernatorial terms. Texas is becoming California every year.
That's what disturbed me. At least I won't have to be here very much longer.

All I can say is I hope they're delighted with what they vote for.

You just can’t help to spew bs. A majority of Stennis employees do in fact live on the coast as well as Ingalls. There are tech companies currently being built in and around the campus for NASA and NOAA. The port of Gulfport recently had a San Diego tech company relocate here that specializes in autonomous semisubmersibles that brought in 135 engineers. The coast is growing rapidly. The housing market has grown at a pace more than similar size cities throughout the US.

The rest of the state should do what that that one school in Laurel does. The city school district there has one elementary school that it puts all its top students in grades and conduct into. It has other elementary feeder schools to its high school, but all the best students in the city and teachers they put in one magnet school. Its rated as the top in the state in several categories. The problem is that it doesn’t continue that model after 6th grade, so then their high school is an F school and they are in disarray even currently. I heard they had a bench clearing brawl after losing to Meridian and almost killed their head coach. Knocked out cold on the field and might have resulted in a heart attack. Anyway the point is, if the entire state, every district separated its kids and placed all the top ones in one school, then our eagles could soar, and Mississippi as a whole wouid be represented much better.

That’s great, I love all that. But Camille/Katrina say…..look out

Even still, I stand by what I said, a big part of Stennis and Ingalls employees come from LA and AL…..but Lucedale is definitely growing

Is she a much better human being than me? I would be interested to see how that is measured.

I don't really sit around trying to figure out if someone is or isn't a better human than me.
I view most people as somewhere in the middle and they have positives and negatives to them. Seems like too much nuance to try and discern.

But anyways, your childish insult has nothing to do with my comment you responded to.
Even if she is a better human than me, what I said is still true- she constantly lied and Trump had her stop giving press briefings and instead gave them himself.
