As for the football stadium, that's an ambitious project. They will upgrade and improve multiple levels on 3 sides of that stadium. I like all the ideas for each of the 3 sides.

Also I think the landscape project is a great idea. A green walk north of the stadium was needed. In addition to all the landscape updates to the Junction and near B&N.

It will all look great when completed.

Looking forward to the new AD and President tearing this up and wiping their àsses with it in 2026. Invest in the players, win some games, then look at facilities.

Facility stuff is going to be hell for a while. NFL players receive 48% of all revenue. NBA players receive 50% of revenue. When college athletes unionize, expect it to head to this level in a hurry. That may be in 5 years or it may be in 10, but either way... No way do we want to be on the hook for a bunch of high dollar facility upgrades when 50% of revenue has to go to athletes.

If I was AD, I'd do the south endzone b/c I think it completes the structure. You aren't adding that many seats. After that - the $$$ is to pay players.

Oh, and go back to the 99 football jerseys. Thanks.

Ummm, we need lots more WWW’s before spending lots of $$$’s in hopes of getting the W’s.
Agreed. Selmon thinks he can spend his way out of this. We can't. We've got to develop strategies to win, and it's got to be more strategic and specific than 'pay more'. Everybody's doing that already and we absolutely cannot compete with that approach.

I really don’t understand what you want him to do here ? The HS recruiting class is wrapped up, we just had a pretty d*** good portal class considering we just went 2-10. Are you expecting him to hire Nick Saban an analyst or something ? I really am just confused but what people specifically want when they say this

I want a mission for the whole AD, with specific plans for each sport. I want us to pick and choose how we are going to both win and get revenue. I want to know what type of coaches and schemes we want for each sport, so picking coaches and players is plug and play. You can build continuity with the things you have power over. I want a consistent branding as well, and know how we are going to use it.

It can't just be 'make more money' and 'best for muh student athlete'. That's lazy.

Consistent branding isn’t possible with Keenum around. Well, unless you want that branding to be the Banner M. As for everything else I agree, just not sure how that is implemented to the public

I think it’s simple:

- Banner M is the overarching emblem for all sports except baseball, which is obviously M over S. What I mean is, it’s on the 50 yard line, midcourt, websites, etc. it’s the official school logo, has been for a quarter century, we need to deal with it.
- That does not mean not to lean into ‘STATE’. If anything, it enhances it. You can put whatever script or block State you want on the uniforms, helmet, whatever, I don’t care. Sell it on merch too. But it’s secondary. If anything I say Oregon the football uniforms, we don’t have tradition there anyway.
- keep up the Hail State marketing campaign.

There’s a lot of other things you can do with colors and such. I like integrating silver, chrome and black into football uniforms.

Notice too, that plan calls for removal of a few rows to add a walkway midway up. Also removing some seats for added stairs, splitting the existing sections.
Much needed if you build south and do that you don't increase seating that much

How many master plans have we had in the past 30 years??
First one I remember was a parking deck about where the Barnes and Noble is.
When the hell they gonna build that Holiday Inn in the South End Zone ?
Still waiting on that sweet bastard !

When the Hump renovation was announced , I wanted to have one of the naming rights .... but when the reality of the construction occurred they cut a lot of things out ... the end result was nothing like the plan. Needless to say, I paid a lot of money to have my name up and they couldn't accommodate it and had to move it to another facility ...so I imagine the end product won't be anything like these renderings.
The hump remodel wasn't great
The 2014 Davis Wade remodel WAS great
The Dudy Noble remodel was second to none

But lets pick out the one we don't like and use it as the norm!

The Banner M is the logo of Mississippi State University. However in true State fashion, many fans (that probably don't give or buy tickets, and get in games free with a press pass) hate it and complain over and over and over. It's just ridiculous how disfunctional this fan base is.

I'm sure the next AD will have another one done in 5 years. And it will look completely different than this one does. Meanwhile, the actual projects we build will also look nothing like the master plan. They're great for funneling a lot of money to consultants though.

"Arm Chair Seating" mentioned once for a small section of the west side:

View attachment 749687
I don't think they are showing everything. The first bullet point for the West side of Davis Wade states "Replace entire existing lower bowl" yet in all renderings, they still show 6 entrances and those long, long rows. I've seen posts on here or ED where people have said you can't chairback the current lower bowl because of the pitch or landing areas so I'm guessing by demolishing and rebuilding the new structure will be built with that in mind whether it happens or not. I also can't see them demolishing the entire lower bowl without rebuilding it with more ramps up to the seating cutting down those long rows. Notice that it also says that the press box will be moved to the East side but nothing about the press box is ever mentioned again so I think they aren't showing everything.

ETA: Looking closer, I just noticed that the coaches boxes for both teams and the tv broadcast room will be separate from the press box and left on the west side.

I finally got to sit down and read through some of this plan last night, and I was hesitant to say anything because I am genuinely glad that after two long years, we finally do have some sort of vision from our AD. There were more than a few things in the master plan that make me pause, though.

"we designed a 10+ year plan with high-level concepts that enhance all our facilities and will be a difference-maker for every student-athlete who dons Maroon and White. This is a long-term blueprint for our journey over the next decade which we will continue to refine as we zero in on each specific project."

"This extensive Master Plan is an ambitious map that charts our course to the future. We will undertake each individual project with precision as the timing is right, while navigating the changing landscape to meet the challenges of revenue sharing and new benefits to student-athletes."

Translation: We just paid a ton of money to a design firm to help us put a plan together that I have absolutely no idea how we're going to fund or when we're going to start. We'll get some lights up this year and maybe make a few smallish improvements in 2026, at which point I'll be on to my next job and the next MSU AD can worry about the remaining details.

I don't know whether it was his comments about revenue sharing or the utter lack of project timing details that worries me more, but I don't think Zac has any idea whatsoever as to how he's going to accomplish this plan.
