10 year plan? I want to hear a starting date.
And you can rest assured that the response will be that it's already started! LED lights are coming this Fall!

The fact that they don't have a page or short list of the other pieces that they expect to start in the next 1-3 years is concerning, though.

The Banner M is the logo of Mississippi State University. However in true State fashion, many fans (that probably don't give or buy tickets, and get in games free with a press pass) hate it and complain over and over and over. It's just ridiculous how disfunctional this fan base is.
So basically you are talking about Goat.

Not crazy about that SEZ expansion rendering. Also, we don't need to add any seats. We need to remove seats by chairbacking the entire stadium. We really have no need for more than 50-55K seats. Lengthen the leg room by at least 6" and widen the seats by at least 3"+. And all with armrests and cupholders. Fans should be able to walk down the aisles without anyone having to move their legs or stand up to let them by.

This would be nice but really really 17ing expensive. You could pay for it by raising the cost of the tickets, but then people would lose their cheap whiny minds.

Also, in reference to the bolded part, this would be nice as well but does any other stadium (baseball, basketball or football) have this?

I finally got to sit down and read through some of this plan last night, and I was hesitant to say anything because I am genuinely glad that after two long years, we finally do have some sort of vision from our AD. There were more than a few things in the master plan that make me pause, though.

"we designed a 10+ year plan with high-level concepts that enhance all our facilities and will be a difference-maker for every student-athlete who dons Maroon and White. This is a long-term blueprint for our journey over the next decade which we will continue to refine as we zero in on each specific project."

"This extensive Master Plan is an ambitious map that charts our course to the future. We will undertake each individual project with precision as the timing is right, while navigating the changing landscape to meet the challenges of revenue sharing and new benefits to student-athletes."

Translation: We just paid a ton of money to a design firm to help us put a plan together that I have absolutely no idea how we're going to fund or when we're going to start. We'll get some lights up this year and maybe make a few smallish improvements in 2026, at which point I'll be on to my next job and the next MSU AD can worry about the remaining details.

I don't know whether it was his comments about revenue sharing or the utter lack of project timing details that worries me more, but I don't think Zac has any idea whatsoever as to how he's going to accomplish this plan.
Correct. We won’t see much of this with rev sharing especially. The one thing he is actively trying to build is the IPF bc I guess he thinks it’s 1999

I want a mission for the whole AD, with specific plans for each sport. I want us to pick and choose how we are going to both win and get revenue. I want to know what type of coaches and schemes we want for each sport, so picking coaches and players is plug and play. You can build continuity with the things you have power over. I want a consistent branding as well, and know how we are going to use it.

It can't just be 'make more money' and 'best for muh student athlete'. That's lazy.
Good luck. With 4 different ADs in last 17 years and a new vision from each? Not to mention 5 head coaches during the same period. That's like getting 5 different women to agree on a kitchen color, it can't happen.

What's that, have Keenum draw it up? We don't need plastic face to be in charge of "specific plans for each sport" and "schemes for each sport" . We saw that movie script when Leach passed away

Selmon has been here over 2 years. In this day and age things can be implemented quickly.

And who cares about coaching turnover, coach type is a function of the plan.

You failed to address 4 ADs different plans. Selmons been her 2 years and accomplished, what? Paid a firm a lot of money for a master plan. He gets railroaded out of here next year like a lot of folks seem to discuss and then what, we go look for another "plug and play" guy to agree to the previous ADs plan right?

And, so the AD of the day is then going to tell all these "plug and play coaches" what their "scheme" is going to be? And these coaches are going to be a part of your "niche type coach" plan you've been pushing for quite some time. Sounds like we are going to have a very limited head coaches pool in the future no matter the sport, ones that will run a niche system for their new AD and have that AD telling them how to do it. And when that AD leaves another plug and play AD with the same ideas takes their place with the same vision? Goat you've created a real Utopia right here in little ole Starkvegas, MS, USA

How many "niche type" baseball schemes are there out there too? Niche volleyball, golf, track, anyone? In a perfect world Goat you've got it figured out but this insulted time in sorts isn't close to perfect

Little beat boy Robbie is the leader of the pack. Now that the LEDs are supposedly being fix he will turn his undivided hate towards bringing back the MSJ logo

I found out what that leg room was like at Snowden Grove Amphitheater seating in Southaven for a concert this past summer. You literally could stay seated and someone walk right in front of you with their hands full of concessions.....and neither of you come in contact with the other. I was dumbfounded by the spaciousness of that seating.

You are incapable of long term thinking.

First of all, Selmon was a bad hire. We all know that. He has no plan. Secondly, Cohen was AD for 5 years before that. What 4 are you talking about? Cohen had plans, but our fans crucified him for them and ran him out of town. Fans like you. And here we are, still trying to keep up with the Jones.

Cohen was the worse thing that could happened to us from a fundraising standpoint, from an NIl/BI standpoint, he emptied our coffers to build non revenue sport facilities instead of fund raising.
Also, not everyone dislikes selmon he has done a lot in his two years here. Just cause he didn’t stick with your Mickey Mouse logo, or they lie you spew that he hired his best bud to coach football which isn’t close to being accurate. One more thing. He hasn’t interviewed for these jobs being thrown out there but him getting noticed by search firms means that’s he’s seen as doing a good job. He’s not even sat down with other schools Goat, you are just an ignorant jacka$$

You’re right…very expensive, and no other stadiums have that.

We already have the smallest stadium in the conference, so decreasing capacity just keeps us on the bottom. We will never be able to draw in elite recruits, seeing ad how they want to play in an elite stadium. Our minimum needs to be at around 65,000.

Size doesn’t matter nearly as much as a packed loud house.

60,000 to 65,000 is probably the largest we need but it needs to be seating that everyone wants and is willing to pay for.

Sorry, I'm late to this thread. Not going to read everything.
  1. I find the word "master" offensive.
  2. This is just fundraising, right? Show the donor base what we would do with infinite money, raise funds, and follow through with whatever the donors fund.

It worries me that the West side of DWS is all "expansion" and "add on". For the money you'll spend on that, you'd be better off tearing it down and building an all chairback lower bowl with 2-3 levels of club and 2-3 levels of actual nice skyboxes.

No need for an upper deck of seats. Make that a flat roof "hangout" area for all the "I want to be cool and have an entertainment spot at the game" folks. Imagine it would sell like hotcakes with the right food / beverage options.
