If we could manage to beat Mizzou, Beamer will have matched SOS for SEC record through 4 years at 15-17. Both will have had two 3-5 seasons, one 4-4 season and one 5-3 season.

Through 4 seasons, Spurrier had an overall record of 28-22. Beamer currently sits at 26-21.

Both will have gone to bowl games their first 2 seasons, missed a bowl in the 3rd season and then made a bowl again in the 4th season.

Could you argue that Beamer's record is more impressive as he's been learning on the job?

All that tells me is that, overall, the SEC isn't as stout as it was for us during the Orange Crush days when Florida and Tennessee were both bad@$$ and we also played Georgia every year. Who ever saw an Oklahoma team this bad, either, for that matter?

spurrier was winning at sc when the sec east was way down, ut is better now, uga is better now, uf no, vandy better, Kentucky better. 1st couple years of spurrier was pretty tough but Clemson before dabo wasn't great, but they were better than us, and ut and uf were declining
