If Dan is going to get back into coaching, this is the kind of job he should be looking for. Moderate expectations, manageable league schedule, and should be able to turn up enough money to put a roster together which helps mask his weaknesses in recruiting.

If he sticks with media, I do think he could develop into one of the best analysts out there. He’s also good on the set.

I agree, but hope he doesn’t take it. There was a rumor he had been contacted a couple of weeks ago.

I am holding on to the pipe dream that we have Mullen/Kamario Taylor in 2026 once we move on from sh*tshow.

I was on the bring-back-Mullens wagon before it was cool, but now I'm pretty agnostic on it. I still think he's a perfectly capable coach, but what's his skill-set on NIL? Who knows! If/when we run off Lenny, I want a coach who has demonstrated ability when it comes to NIL nonsense.

I wish we’d lean in the other way….get a hard nose coach, and let the school innovate the NIL in some way. And trust me, Danny is no stranger to IDing the players and then turning the other way and allowing boosters to do their thang.

I think Mullen would be a much better recruiter in the NIL era, since it's primarily about open, over-the-table $$ now. Things like personality and outworking on the recruiting trail aren't as important.

A lot of similarities to his time in Starkville: a school of in-state kids vs their rival made up of mostly rich reject out-of-staters.

Going forward I think teams will be like NFL. Head coach plus GM. GM deals with all the NIL BS and the coach just coaches.

Id take Mullen back tomorrow in that circumstance.

Well he had his chance to have it all taken care of with Cam Newton and passed ..

UNC is a sleeping giant. Kiffen would kill it there and have an easy path to the playoffs, let's hope he jumps:p.

Why they hired a retread is mind boggling.

My problem now is that he has been sitting out too long now
