(Okay, one is outside Jackson)

Sacred Ground Barbecue opened last week in Pocahontas. It’s owned and operated by Derek Emerson of Walker’s, Caet, and Local 463.

Its hours are 11 am - until they sell out Thursdays - Sundays

@Lucifer Morningstar will have to review it for us…

Lindsey’s Rowan’s will open next month in the old District Donuts in Belhaven.

It’s owned by Chaz Lindsey who owns Pulito Osteria. And according to an interview appearing today at the website of the Jackson based newspaper we do not name, he would like it to be a neighborhood dive bar hangout spot.

Should be interesting. I like Pulito.

All good news. We have better dining in Jackson than some cities 4x our size. They might have finally gotten the right concept for the former donut shop building. Good for them.

Having Elvies, Pulito, Fertile Ground, Poppy Pies, Wing Mouth, Mayday, and this new concept all together in one spot is pretty strong.

Yes, it’s a nice restaurant district.

Hal and Mals turned their south wing/courtyeard into a lounge called the Walk In.

It's a great area and I've had nothing but good experiences with all the places I've tried so far.

Did the mayflower reopen yet? I’m not in town but I saw a young chef had bought the place and was renovating. Hope he makes it work

On the downside, you have to live near Jackson to go to them.

I will have to get on that. I am a big Walkers fan although Elvies has really grown on the ole Devil. Super excited for a new bbq place as currently there are not really any good bbq places in Jackson (outside of South Jackson, of course). I know I will get some push back by saying that, but let me save you some time you are wrong.
