He's going to find that few teams are going to want to take him because every week they'd be wondering is this the week he hold out for more money? Not to mention, he's asking way more than he's worth.

That’s what he gets for besmirching the name of a fine upstanding moral institution like the University of Tennessee

I don’t wish ill on anyone, but the timing of this is really bad for him and schools. Everyone is well into spring practice and the semester is wrapping up. Schools don’t just have $4mil in NIL sitting around at this point. If they do then I assure you they already have a stud QB. If not, then they have more money than sense.

My guess is he’ll end up getting just north of a million and his situation will become a case study for why more formal contractual agreements are good for both player and University.

I’m thinking about this situation a bit. If his deal gets closer to a million, do we see a big program (e.g. USC, Michigan, Penn State) pick him up to be a 2nd string QB? In the transfer portal age there is no incentive to develop a future QB, so I’m not sure backups fetch that type of dough. However, the big programs may use it as an insurance policy in case #1 goes down.

This is actually great for schools.

Maybe this will be a wake up call for him and he will make better life choices in the future. Unfortunately, he’s probably at least a year late in learning a valuable lesson.

Reportedly Tulane backed out, UNC saying no thanks. You hate to see it but there is hope.

As expected, this is hurting students and schools. How the transfer rule isn’t already amended is a puzzle to me. That has to be the minimum fix.

I don’t think you want this guy anywhere near your program as the #2. You’re either all in or all out with him. He will cause problems otherwise. He’ll cause problems either way, but it will be worse if he’s not the #1 guy.

is he not getting any deals because he isn't using a savvy agent that knows how to negotiate...... or are boosters and coaches collaborating together to not touch him, as to reset the market.

The market went from this guy being the highest paid QB two years ago to a handful of guys getting nearly double ($4m). It blows my mind these billionaires haven't drawn the line yet on these guys. Maybe they are now.

I dont think his ego could let him be #2 somewhere. He's going to go somewhere he can start

He’s asking way over market price. Teams are already set with their rosters & have already committed their available NIL money for 2025. And he was a problem to deal with for Tennessee from the beginning, not showing up for fan autograph sessions or NIL commitments, etc. He overplayed his hand when he held out of spring practice.

Yep but I’d also say he’s old enough to stand up for himself and make his own decisions.

obviously that would be easier for him if he had parents who raised him that way.
Yep. We all reach the age of accountability long before we are well prepared to make all the decisions we need to make. It's just a matter of how many scars, how deep, and ideally learning and not getting multiple scars in the same place.

If the SEC was in play, Kiffin would've offered immediately and wouldn't care about collusion. People just don't want to pay the asking price. I always thought he was good, but wasn't a 5 star. He disappeared in big games.

On one of the talk shows, they were saying that his dad was shopping him around and he claimed to not know about it.
