You nailed it. They will spread the price increase that HAS to result from the tariffs over EVERY car they make. Nearly every car, even the US assembled ones, will have a lot of foreign parts anyway. That isn't going to change anytime soon, if ever. Tariffs are a sales tax under another name.
Actually a European style VAT might be a more apt comparison. Trump has even referred to the VAT over there as a kind of tariff I believe.

Commies? I thought their primary issue was drug cartels?
Are you going through one of your schizophrenic episodes? I’m asking to understand your question better. Not sure if your dense or uninformed on what’s going on down there.

Nissan is failing because they are losing billions due to their leasing model, not because of car sales. That is why they are doomed.

That isn't how it works. The seats will have a tariff on them. That's what people have been trying to tell you, this is on parts too.
I'd be good with tariffs on seats if they would come up with better upholstery and in better colors **

Thanks. All good points. Not sure if it’s the business center for anything north of say hwy 82 or so but still most of the population is south of there anyway. I think your best point is that it could be an urban center to stop the brain drain. I’m still not sure Jackson itself is saveable. L4 is also right. Jackson and south pretended we didn’t exist for 175 years while we built cultural and economic ties with middle and west Tennessee and northern Alabama (tons of kids went to UNA and my own kids moved straight to Birmingham out of MSU). Now that NE Mississippi is a very viable and relatively prosperous area, it kind of galling to have Jackson centric types tell us how much we need them. However your points are well taken. Thank you for the answer.
His points like always are pretty generic.

Toyota announces they will build their new hybrid in Indiana instead of Mexico to avoid the tariffs. Ain't that crazy ?? One of you geniuses need to reach out to the CEO of Toyota and explain tariffs to him. Obviously he doesn't understand how they work...lol

Do you have a link? All I can find is the announcement from last April saying Toyota was putting $1.4 billion into its Indiana plant to build their new 3 row EV there.

April 2024 Announcement

I just want to know what the new hybrid is going to be. A 3 row hybrid land cruiser would be cool.

Eta @thatsbaseball posted it. It's a Honda civic, not a Toyota. No 3rd row land cruiser in the US yet. Bastards

I'm looking at the new Ford Explorer ST. It has the twin turbo 3.0 ecoboost V6 @400 horsepower and the 10 spd transmission built in Michigan. I think I've purchased my last import.

I'm kinda disappointed in the explorer lineup right now. They're taking one of the last few mid size body on frame SUVs and turning it into a street performance type vehicle. I wish they'd make it more off road worthy or throw a 3rd row in the Bronco somehow.

I have a truck for that. I'm looking for a street vehicle that can haul some luggage and a couple of people and that I can also do some testing and tuning with.😎

I've read that the 3.0 is a totally new engine but if it is as good as the 2.7 ecoboost in my F150 you'll love it.

If they put a 3rd row in the Bronco, I will trade in my Armada immediately. It’s really the only thing keeping me from buying one until my son starts driving full time.

Well nevermind. I just looked it up and I guess it's unibody construction now. Great for the highway, but not built for Rocky trails.

I'm in the market in the next 12 months for a kid hauler for my wife. We need a 3rd row, but also want to be able to take it out fishing or hiking in the backcountry. I really don't want to buy a full size, but the picking is getting slim.

Isn't that why everyone's leasing companies are set up totally separate and stand alone from the manufacturing and sales company?

Speaking of cars just bought a new GMC Terrain 2.0 and absolutely love it so far. Now having said that the engine will blow up on interstate today.

Are they bringing it to the US? I feel like they'll have to kill the explorer if they do.
Drove one with the small turbo diesel in Costa Rica. Great ride. Not sure how that model fits in with the Explorer but several manufacturers have overlap in their US SUV lineup these days. I guess there's a reason for it.

Probably not. If you want to gamble on Nissan, the new Armada is available as a Pro-4X now for 2025
At least it's available with 18" wheels. All the other full size SUVs force you into 20" wheels in the off-road models for some reason. But $80k for a Nissan right now feels a little to masochistic even for me.

I'm waiting to see all of the EV models that will be built in Blue Oval City before I decide. I know how you boys love the EVs.

Loving or Hating an EV and owning one, I get. Hating on them while never having owned one, sounds ignorant.
