As for just the Swimsuit issue, there's way more and way better photos of semi clothed and unclothed models on the interwebs than what they have featured lately. Plus you don't have to worry about turning the page and seeing the aforementioned dude or "lady of size" by accident. As for the sports content of the mag, it's a small shell of what it once was. I don't pay for The Athletic but the ones I've seen run circles around what SI puts out too

SI used to be one of the magazines I looked forward to receiving. 90s and early 00s- articles were interesting, op-eds were interesting, writers actually existed, etc.

The embarrassment that SI caused itself a few months ago with the AI authored articles was sad to see since it was from a brand that was an absolute leader for years.
Fake people with fake bios were being swapped out every couple months and attached to AI generated stories/articles.

Clowns.
Actually- SI should do an AI Swimsuit 'photoshoot' for it's last magazine. That'd be a helluva sendoff.

Magazines, in general, have become a letdown as far as readability. The larger publications have greatly suffered with their articles, except for a few fringe publications. I used to enjoy sports illustrated, and Rolling Stone but not anymore

That last time I was subscribed to SI Rick Reilly was still writing for them.
Saw him in some interviews, self righteous douche

Yea, SI is not going to promote heterosexuality, goes against against their core beliefs

I probably have 25-30 SI Swimsuit issues in a box somewhere, going back to the Christie Brinkley era

I just hope someone can maintain the SI Vault

The search isn't the best implementation, but it's easy to lose a few hours combing through old articles

I don't think I've seen one in at least a decade. I've seen that they're being more "body type inclusive" these days. No thanks.

I could respond with the “#MeToo” movement or the LGBTLMNOP horseshhit, but I will just respond to your post with, “Nah.”

I mean, even a lib like you has to admit the late 80s and early 90s (minus the crappy 90s bands) was the shhit
If you're specifically talking about the swimsuit issue, reckon it had anything to do with the ubiquity of internet porn and particularly smartphones?

If you're talking SI generally, do you think it had anything to do with being obtained by venture capital and proceeding to run out shoddy AI-generated content?

Yep, I love the 1980s and 1990s. I was young then, were you? Virtually EVERYBODY fondly recalls the years they were young. In 40 years, Zoomers gonna be telling youngsters how dope the 2020s were.

I remember going out in the Jackson area in the early aughts and one of the attractions at bars was having the “Bud Light Girls“ there. Good times were had. Now, The Bud Light Girl is a dude. It was ruined by the #MeToo movement and by the LGBTLMNOPQs.

Maybe you were weird around the girls and they don't come around you anymore?***

You shut your mouth when you're talking to me!
How dare you besmirch music from the 90s.

- The late 80s and 90s were great years for SI Swimsuit- a lack of widespread internet connectivity or high speed connectivity where it even existed is, in part, why those were great years for SI Swimsuit.
- The late 80s and 90s were great years for SI the magazine- it had strong financial support by Time/TimeWarner, it had known writers that drew interest, and it had great feature articles as well as regular weekly segments like 'faces in the crowd' and 'whos not whos not'. This timeframe was actually when SI for Kids was released- '89. I read the crap out of that as an 8-12yo.
- The late 80s and 90s were great years for music. EC vs WC conflict, rise of pop boy bands and Disney stars, Grunge taking over, Ska's brief moment, Alt Rock taking over the post-Grunge landscape, EDM gaining traction, and all the while Natalie Imbruglia needing help because she is frustrated from being Torn and I am too young to help! Beastie Boys, Nirvana, Wyclef and Fugees, Snoop, Dre, Shady, Pearl Jam, Green Day, NKOTB, NSYNC, Britney, Backstreet, TLC, NIN, Mariah, and so much more- that decade's music was phat, da bomb, and it was all that and a bag of chips!

On that note, Im OUTTIE 5000!

If the she is a he, then I am a okay if they don’t come around me. Then again, if the she is a he, I am NOT the weird one. And that is from someone that is both borderline ADHD and autistic.

It sounds like you long for a time when cute women were paid to fake flirt with you and your boys so you would buy whatever alcohol they were slinging.
I dont know what 'ruined' it, but if MeToo ruined it, then maybe people shouldnt have felt up the Bud Light Girls.

In reality, that movement didnt ruin it, but also in reality the Bud Light Girl isnt a dude. There are still attractive women who are paid to go around bars and push Bud Light.
Not much is actually as extreme or bad as you seem to think. Thats the tough part about being stuck in a moment in time and desperately holding onto what you think that moment was like- everything around you in reality seems worse than it actually is.

i’m surprised goofy glfr hasn’t called you a bigot for not wanting to get with a trans. that is the latest narrative from the pedo party
Imagine a world where just because you disagree with a person on some things, that doesn't mean you disagree with them on all things.
It's amazing to see that not all people who often align with one general approach to governance are not monolithic in all their views.

Whatll really blow your mind is that I didn't vote for Obama in '08 or '12 and I am not actually as liberal as many on here claim. I'm just not as far off on the right edge of things as many on here, so they think must surely be a socialist pedo groomer since those are the catch phrase words they consume most frequently in the media.
