So we are currently ranked 15th in the country in number of offensive plays run per game, with a record of 1-7.

Indiana is ranked #70 in plays per game, they are 8-0. Army is ranked #123, they are 8-0. Missouri is ranked #33, they are 6-2. Iowa St is ranked #20, they are 8-0. Vanderbilt is ranked #97, and everyone knows how good they’ve played this year at 5-3.
Note- All of these teams are ranked in the top 20 in the fewest plays per game allowed for their opponents. Vanderbilt limited Alabama to 44 offensive plays. Could Vandy have beaten or ever beaten Alabama playing any other way? Our defense on the other hand might be the worst defense in all of college football. So why are we trying to go so fast and run so many plays?

Here the point, all of these teams know exactly who they are and what they are up against. Their commitment to an overall style of play gives them the best opportunity to win against the bigger school and win in general on a consistent basis. Granted all these teams I mentioned don’t run the same schemes, but their schemes work together with their overall game plan to punch up in weight. Some of you are so enamored with fools gold garbage points and yardage ect. Who cares, nothing matters except wins and losses. So who are we? What style of play best suits our chances here at Mississippi State? Are we doing that?
