Allar is starting to remind me of Hackenburg. Slightly better pocket presence than Hack, but similar mobility in the pocket and a lot of inaccurate throws. Hack was lucky enough to have better receivers, though.
Neither were/are playing behind an OL that would give any QB confidence.

Their skill sets are a mismatch for Franklin's offensive philosophy.

All you critics will be shown how wrong you are. A deliberate methodical offense and an opportunistic defense will win this game. Indiana will be smashed this half. Just watch.
Yes. Fraud-klin has shown that he is one of the best in CFB in making halftime adjustments and 4th quarter decisions. Of course this is sarcasm.

The OL is what it is.
When pressured, I don’t think Allar makes a quick enough response. Makes poor decisions, or just stands there like the ol’ deer in the headlight.
Starting to remind me of Carson Wentz in the NFL after his injury. Great physical skills but not the mental capacity of a great QB.
Hope he proves me wrong.
Agree. Replays showed some receivers open enough that a strong throw would have probably worked. Seems like he is way too cautious.

I hope Franklin has Dan Mullen’s name on his list of coaches that are available when it comes time to replace MY at the end of the season.

Here’s the last 3rd down play. A 5 man rush with 6 O-lineman.
64 the center has a guy lined up in the gap and gets beat. 56 is looking for someone to block.IMG_0504.jpegView attachment 434638

This is the big issue, IMO. James wants to collect recruiting stars, but doesn’t have the system for NFL drop-back QB types to succeed.

This could be improved by just recruiting the dual-threat type QBs.

A little more imaginative offense in the second half so far

Bingo! But I disagree with your assertion that his philosophy (which is fundamentally wrong) can be fixed with a dual threat QB, especially playing in the Big10

I didn’t write “fixed,” I wrote “improved.” I think the facts support PSU being most competitive against OSU and UM with a mobile QB and RPO offense.

Look at what Indiana is doing today.
