Hmmmmmm…..Whatever the reason, Tomlin refuses to hire coordinators that bring any kind of innovation or creativity. Another year of .500 ball with zero postseason success. Tomlin is certainly a good coach, but he's proven he cannot do more than this for more than a decade now.
Clunky. Annoying to watch. The final Steelers’ drive was painful to watch for a non-fan of the team. It must have been agonizing for fans of the team. Bummer, as I was rooting for the Steelers to win on a late score
Tomlin needs to go. He's rotten gas.10-7.....that's about as good as its ever going to get for the Steelers under Tomlin. There will be no more Championships for Mike Tomlin.
Drafted Roman Wilson and haven’t heard from him all year, some say hurt, others say not good enough, Pickens is the village idiot, Austin and Jefferson are #4 WR. Absolutely need 2 WR next year, trade Pickens for an extra pick, let Najee go and completely overhaul the skill players except for PF and JWHe should get rid of Arthur Smith and the 90's style offense, draft 2 WRs in the first 3 rounds next year (and another CB), and hire Jason Vrable (South Park native) from Green Bay to take over the offense.
This is kinda the status quo in Stiller Nation. For an organization that boasts such a full trophy case, this complacency is perhaps the saddest state of the union I’ve seen in my lifetime. We used to expect great things from our team - even in down years, there always seemed to be a plan in place to get better. Now the standard is a tick or two lower…mediocrity is the new MO. We’re in a “high floor / low ceiling” purgatory, craving something different and begging for deep playoff runs but instead being told to be grateful for mediocrity.I've finally got my expectations to a point where all of this BS doesn't upset me much anymore. Mistake filled **** games like this, even 4 in a row to end the season don't ruin my day or my week.
It's been like 15 years of this ********. At some point you have to get with the program and go with the flow, as my dad would say.
And it's not going to get any better any time soon.

Is it time to consider trading Watt for a high draft pick or up and coming young player? I love Watt. He’s been fantastic and never asked for anything or complained, but he can only play at this level for so long and he still has high trade value currently. The Steelers, historically, have been happy to get rid of a guy a year too early rather than a year too late. You look at what Detroit was able to do when they traded away their lone superstar in Stafford. I agree, trade Pickens. He’s a problem. If you can get another WR or decent draft pick for him, do it. The OL has 3-4 guys playing that were slotted to be backups, play at a different position or get cut at the beginning of the year. They lost 3 guys for the season within the first 3-4 weeks of the season. Hopefully, the experience the two OL rookies got this year propels them to major improvement next year. They have been solid, but are still rookies. Getting the first round OL pick from Washington back next year will be helpful. I think they still need to address the OL in the draft or FA. The QB of the future is not on the roster and the draft class is not strong, so an answer there isn’t going to come easily. They need another good cover DB. They haven’t put a whole lot of emphasis on DB for years, besides Porter. It’s time. Najee is likeable, but reminds me of another Alabama RB, Trent Richardson. There’s a lot of miles on the tires and he looks a little too slow and methodical to be effective at this level. The OL doesn’t help him much either.Drafted Roman Wilson and haven’t heard from him all year, some say hurt, others say not good enough, Pickens is the village idiot, Austin and Jefferson are #4 WR. All excellent points. I’d sign Fields as a bridge to the next QB. He’s young enough that you can live with his mistakes so long as he converts third downs with his legs. Overspend on a good OL coach - someone who can jumpstart all of these young guys’ careers. Regardless, time to hit the reset button…being stuck in purgatory is getting old.Is it time to consider trading Watt for a high draft pick or up and coming young player? I love Watt. They’ve invested a lot of draft capital in the OL the past two drafts. Maybe they missed on one or two, but it still looks like there is enough raw talent there - especially when you get the kid from Washington back - to mold into a pretty good unit for the future. Better coaching and schemes would certainly help expedite that process. The OL has struggled since Munchak left.
With the tackle they drafted this year, coming back next year and replacing Moore, it should be an immediate upgrade. The two other young guys from this year are solid so I think moving forward the line can be a strength, if they get a good coach. if they can get a third round pick for Pickens, they should take it. That pet can be used to get a decent running back if they let Harris go.Draft Egbuka or someone like that in the first round and spend some money on a free agent receiver. They’ve invested a lot of draft capital in the OL the past two drafts. Agree. Let Watt go get his ring elsewhere, and use the picks you get for him to rebuild. With the tackle they drafted this year, coming back next year and replacing Moore, it should be an immediate upgrade. As far as letting TJ leave, they probably could get some pretty good value for him and still have Herbig and Highsmith as edge rushers.
Jones was always a higher risk / higher reward player due to his lack of playing experience in college. That said, I wouldn’t give up on him yet…he definitely has all the tools to be successful. As for the Washington kid, I don’t think we saw enough of him to make any sort of judgement to this point.I’m pretty sure they planned on using the rookie OT at RT and moving Jones to LT to battle it out with Moore. Unfortunately, neither look like promising LT options. I agree the other two rookie OL look pretty good despite both being forced onto the field before they wanted them to be, due to injuries.
I like the Washington kid. Jones concerns me. He regressed and at times looks disinterestedJones was always a higher risk / higher reward player due to his lack of playing experience in college.
