I mean, I suppose. I'm just reacting to the idea that Day, as an individual, is a great recruiter. He's not nor have I ever seen anyone claiming that he is. OSU as a staff are great recruiters with Hartline being the superstar. When Hartline finally gets his head coaching job, it's going to hit the OSU staff pretty hard.
How does Hartline do recruiting OLs and on the defensive side? When he does get a head coaching job his responsibilities will expand to a degree that he won't have as much time to concentrate on what he does now.

Spot on. The truth is Al Golden lost that game for ND. Rumor has it he is still running laps after that call.
The OC should be running right beside him for calling pass plays on the final ND drive. Didn’t see it as I was watching the greatest environment in sports!!
Was told he runs instead of passing twice for incompletions, punt to suckeyes deep and with very little time remaining.

BTW, no comments about how foolish Ryan Day was to kick an XP on the last TD? Just take a knee. ND wasn't kicking a FG to tie, so the XP does nothing for you except provide ND a chance to block it and return for 2. Not sure if it's possible to get an untimed down in the event that OSU committed a penalty on the return, but I'll take my chance on that vs a blocked XP.

Maybe if he wasn't obsessing about Granny Holtz, it would have occurred to him to just take a knee.
