WSJ still thinks risks abound for Rivian IDK if you can open link .Ford and Amazon are heavily invested in Rivian, company viability won't be a problem. Cybertruck is gawd-awful ugly.
I see your Ford and raise the coolest pickup ever made
Did the same thing ( nowhere near as upscale as your car) for both daughters. One took the deal and loved her school. The other liked her school at 3 times the money.Yep UT costing me $60k per year …..I offered my son a Porsche and X dollars of money in mutual fund account if he went to U of FL….would have cost me less than 15k year all in! Him and his mother wanted out of state
Best roads because you don’t have to deal with much in the way of weather that creates the potholes.Sigh…that’s how it starts …
So when I lived in Pa and dated my wife on Sundays we would drive her VW cabrio convertible through those fun gorgeous twisty curvy roads to a different breakfast spot (worst roads in the country)…..
I know live in the place that has the best roads in the country straight straight wide and flat with no potholes….boring roads I might add.
The only turns we make are 90 degrees and are limited….do you see a benefit?
Funny I ask cuz when I upgraded my F150 with the Fox shocks and BDS control arms it was much better in the rear end amazing actually…the TT having a small wheel base and my roads what benefits?
And they are straight, wide, well lit and shell based asphalt.Best roads because you don’t have to deal with much in the way of weather that creates the potholes.

Here’s the only thing I’ve read. The electric F-150 does not offer decent charge while pulling a “full payload”. You would be lucky to get just over an hour worth of highway driving. Pulling no weight and cruising at 60 mph, count on 2 hrs before needing to charge your truck. Not sure if this was directed to anyone in particular, but I will answer
I have never owned a pick up truck - never really had the use for them. Truth be told, I still don't. However, I find this to be intriguing because as mentioned before, Ford took it's #1 product and introduced it in a new space, but still made it look and feel like something it's core market will be familiar with. If they took this platform to the SUV market, it would be amazing for them.
Other than the motorcycle, I have a Miata as a toy. And, God willing sometime in the next 12-18 months, I will have a small plane.
Well no. During the operation of the vehicle it does not charge with the exception of regenerative braking. Like an ICE the EV uses it’s available energy source to power the vehicle. Like an ICE it needs its energy source replenished when depleted. Putting a load on it would deplete the available energy source even more. Just like any vehicle. Here’s the only thing I’ve read. Just like most electric vehicles, they’re not practical. However, the moment one of these manufacturers can guarantee a 5 hour charge while cruising at 65 mph you can kiss the combustion engine goodbye.
