Ok Ladies and Gentleman, Valentines day is less than 24 hours away. What is the story of how you and your other half met?

I was in college starting my 3rd year and I was on my way to class and i notice this tall girl (about 5'11) in shorts sitting at a courtyard bench one leg crossed over the other(debated skipping class but went). Class ends and I head back for that courtyard and she's still there sitting at that courtyard bench. I go up and introduce myself and start talking to her. She doesn't even so much as acknowledge me being there (first thing
out of her mouth everytime this story is told is that she was doing her math homework) and I walk away thinking "well this girl's not interested." Just so happened that a guy that was a friend of mine had gone to high school with her and was a close friend of hers. He saw a matchmaking opportunity, I told him about my encounter with her, and he told me that she was very shy and not to mistake that for her not being interested. So I approach her a second time two days later(i have her phone number by the end of that day, bought my first cellphone the next day), and things really start to click between us after that. We were dating by the end of the week. That was 15 years ago this past September. 6 years ago this past October we got married. We have a son that will turn 4 in June.

Wife was home on spring break from med school at USC. Visited the Sunday school class at the church I attended. Chatted for a couple minutes, went home that and looked her up on Facebook and sent her a message. The rest is history.

Psychology class in college. She noticed me & knew instantly she wanted me to ravage her. From there, marriage happened 2.5 years later.

When I was going through most of these times, I was very involved with big celebration events which brought couples, etc. to our restaurant. Our establishment was so popular, we changed Valentine's Day to Valentine's week and it was still sold out. The same thing occurred during the holiday season between Thanksgiving and Christmas when many, many Christmas parties would be booked. Then, again on New Year's Eve.

I worked in southern Arizona frequently, and began taking trips to Mexico during those business trips. I found a hotel in Mexico that was clean, inexpensive, and walking distance to most of the restaurants and things that I liked, so I always stayed at that hotel.

There was a really nice, pretty young lady working there as a receptionist, and we'd always spend a little time chatting during her shifts. We evolved to being friends and would always find time to go out for drinks or dinner when I was down there. I became interested and asked her out for an official "date." She said no. Shot me down in flames.

We remained friends, however.

After 3 1/2 years of being just friends, she told me that if I was still available and interested, she'd be interested in giving a romantic relationship a shot. I was available. And interested.

We dated for two years, then we decided that this was probably going to be permanent, so she moved to the US. That move happened 11 years ago today, as a matter of fact. We got married that April, so our 11th anniversary is coming up.

I'm a really lucky guy... and I am told constantly by my friends that I totally out-kicked my coverage (as if I need to be reminded).

Doesn't matter;

We met in 7th grade. Knew her for 30+ years. Married to her for 8 yrs. Last time I saw her was on Oct. 26th, 2020 when the police walked her across the front yard in handcuffs for domestic violence. Haven't seen or spoken to her since.

It's all a crock and can be stripped away from you in a moment. My advice to men in general. 1) Don't get married. 2) Get a dog.

I forget, it was either

I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison, and I went to pick up in the rain

or

I read the paper in bed
And in the personal columns
There was this letter I read
If you like piña coladas
And gettin' caught in the rain
If you're not into yoga
If you have half a brain

Nothing exciting, but I met my wife at a church event while at USC. We've been married 5 years now and have 2 little guys running around making life interesting.

Edit: well, one little guy running around and the other little guy not quite to the move stage

As a postal carrier having a dog will not work. Sorry to hear things turned out that way.

Played in a half rubber tournament behind a local bar. My wife was there with her girl friends watching the games. Talked to her at the bar later that night. Sent her some yellow roses at work the next day. Bam. 34 years and counting.
