Its why starkville and mississippi state cant ever get on the same page. the overwhelming numbers of blue voters that work at the university arent true okittbeha county people. Starkville and Okt County should be leaders of this state... and they arent.

Starkville and Oktibbeha County leaders are like those old electric football games from the 1960s. When you hit the switch to start a play the players go in all directions, forward, backwards, sideways, but never in the same direction.

You’d think that at some point the majority of those people living in the Delta would realize their plight and vote to try and help fix it.
But no, keep doing the same thing over and over and over again.
Well, at this point, I don't think which way they vote in national elections is going to move the needle for them either way. They are behind the eight ball, to say the least.

To be fair it did get a little redder compared to last time. Biden won it 52-45, Harris is only leading 49.7-48.2.

Yeah. It's 55% libtard professors, 45% true Oktibbeha County people***
this is correct. Take the university away from Starkville... and its Red without question.

Again its easy to see why the city and county dont see eye to eye... and why Oxford has long passed starkville in many obvious ways which it was once vastly the other way.

Heard on the radio today that Harris did worse than Biden 2020 in EVERY SINGLE COUNTY IN AMERICA. Of course, lots of his votes were from frickery…. But still.

You couldnt be further from the fact. Its Noxubee County without the University
It more that way than its ever been but its not Noxubee... Main reason is because the democratic city has pushed people to the outskirts of the county and webster.

You couldn't be farther from being correct if you tried. Oktibbeha County is Noxubee County without the University.

ok. Do you live in Starkville? Have you ever lived here?

Again its not. Its not even close. Its more that way than its ever been because the city has basically turned into a shell of itself trying to turn itself into something its not to appease the university and university families. Kids of those long time starkville families are moving to the outskirts and webster county because its more like Old Starkville there. Starkville Academy's enrollment is at a all-time high. Christian School is at an all time high. Home Schooled all time high. Business's leaving, not coming. The far side of town nothing has been done to grow it at all. Main street is laughable. North Montgomery the same. Hospital is falling apart.

Thank the mayor and her board... the people of missisissippi dont want to live in Starkville anymore.. they want to visit there and its changed majorly over the last 8-10-12 years

But hey we got the hotels up by the university. We removed the signs and screwed up HWY 12 thru town. It took us 10 years to get a youth league park, that WINONA got before we did.... i could go on and on...

The world of academia is pretty clueless about what it takes to survive and prosper in the real world. Apparently all they know how to do is sell their football tickets to opposing fans. 17em.

I live not far away, lifelong resident, and went to MSU. If you take the University out of Oktibbeha County it is Noxubee County and Starkville is Macon. There would be little to nothing in Oktibbeha County, and it would be one of the poorest counties in the state. Without the University it is a straight up typical Black Belt County like Kemper or Noxubee.

couldnt disagree more. Drive the other way. Take a look into webster county. Starkville resembles that much more than Noxubee and Macon. Its where the kids of the 90's are now residing and raising their kids... and reasons are due to what i listed above and the leadership of Starkville that has changed so much.

Not even close. Without the university Oktibbeha is a Black Belt County. One side of my family is from Webster County. It's nothing at all like the Black Belt.

Sorry that the a county wanted to be progressive and not be a billionaire boot licker
So progressives would rather be a millionaire boot licker? Got it.
It’s amusing that Democrats act as if they’re the party of the common man when they’re among the richest of the rich and it’s odd how they’re the ones screaming to tax the rich when they’re the rich! Just donate your money to the fed if you think you aren’t taxed enough.

right you continue to say that....

i realize that webster county isnt like the black belt.. hence thats what starkville would be without the university. East Webster High School continues to grow.. people from Starkville are moving there.

have your opinion though.

If the university wasn't there Starkville would be Macon. There would be nothing in Starkville without the university.

right... keep repeating it, and maybe it'll become true.... 6 posts with the same thing.

As someone who has 4 generations of family that has ALWAYS lived here, and has family spread all over the surrounding area.... i feel pretty good about my take of where starkville was and what it has become. It far more webster county than noxubee.. and thats not even close.

But no, keep doing the same thing over and over and over again.
They've been trying for 60 years since Mississippi was forced to allow them to vote, but they keep getting outvoted in red Mississippi.
