Damn, the gold was there for AB. Yazdani got worked a bit in the finals. Injury or no injury, Yaz was not winning that match.

Yes, but, at minimum, it looked like he separated his shoulder. And I think it was the one he had surgery on before.

And the working was done by Ramazanov -- the Bulgarian that bested AB in the semi. Ramazanov is a challenge for anybody, as he's so damn strong. The move he got AB with at the very end of the semi match is not something that a lot of wrestlers can make.

I had a multi-champ text me on that AB move at the very end that beat him..."that's just not a move that AB could've anticipated. Prolly only a few people in the world that could do that. Sure, you'd expect something like that from a Karelin type but..."

A heads up: I have a family event this weekend that was scheduled months ago, and there really isn't any way I could avoid it. As such, I'll pretty much be out of covering wrestling at the Olympics after Friday night. I'm bummed that I'll be missing Zane, and also that I won't be able able to discuss his matches with all of you. Hopefully, @GregPickel and others will be able to continue posting about Zane, Snyder, & Dake this weekend, and any other things related to wrestling that take place at the Olympics.

Glad that brooks came back and won. I’m sure he will develop over the next couple of years and be ready for gold medal run in 2028.
im shocked that Lee didn’t shoot more today. Usually he goes all out. Perhaps not the right game plan today. Both brooks and Lee gained valuable experience at these Olympics.

So close. Happy for Brooks and Spencer’s guy stalled his butt off. If Brook’s continues to hand fight yesterday for 30 sec he wins. That guy crush the man Brooks was aiming for. Very proud of our wrestlers. Heck they put Zain up against the world champ tomorrow first match. They hate the USA.

The Olympics was awarded to Paris In 2017... you could have planned better. 😉

Bummer of a loss for Zain. Hoping Iran makes the final so he at least has another shot to get an Olympic win.

Snyder and Blades will go early, 12:15. Watch the Iranian to see what happens for Zain, then Dake for Bronze. 65 kg, then 97kg then W76kg, then medals from yesterday

Track Basch on Twitter/X, he is pretty up to date with blanket coverage, including US college wrestlers going for other countries. I would link it but I have no clue how

Zain Retherford’s Olympic medal dreams are not over yet. He’ll be pulled back into tomorrow’s repechage for a chance at bronze after his first round opponent, who beat him, made the gold medal match at 65 kilograms.
