His dad (by blood) is Brett's brother (by blood). Unless what I read is wrong, that is the case.
Fresno Bob said:I'm not overly impressed w/ the commit but really what do you guys have to lose? Were you going to sign a QB this year regardless?...apparently so. If he starts to look good as a QB the next year or two then you've gotten a guy who surpassed expectations and you're happy. If he's not happy and not playing, he'll transfer to a lower level school opening up the scholly again and he likely stays in school wherever he ends up and doesn't hurt your APR. No big time QBs are going to shy away from MSU b/c he's there, either, b/c he's not heralded and then there's this:
The kid looks like he could probably be a pretty good safety. He's not slow, he's not particularly light, and he seems to have good football smarts. He might not be the highest rated safety prospect out there but unlike a lot of QB recuits he actually looks like he could play another position. If none of the other scenarios work out this one isn't very far-fetched.
I think the negative replies center mostly on disappointment about Newton and the realization that this commit likely means the Brunetti efforts aren't bearing fruit. It's not dislike of Favre but disappointment that nobody really heralded apperars to be coming...at QB I mean.
