Reports are a torn ACL, out for the year. So stupid. You need to coach against this.

Somewhere Darwin is smiling…
I agree, poor kid. That was very mild, nothing out of the ordinary for the situation.Poor kid … he wasn’t even doing anything stupid … just did a little hop for joy. If someone’s going to get hurt celebrating, why can’t it be the kid celebrating a first down while losing by 3 TDs, or someone taunting via celebration or something?
Yeah, he was doing nothing ostentatious, but you need to be aware of these things. I mean, it’s happened often enough, hasn’t it?Poor kid … he wasn’t even doing anything stupid … just did a little hop for joy. Well, it is a subject of which you might have memories ...I’m now sorry I started this thread. That was brutal.

He and his teammate made a nice place play to force a 3rd and long. I feel sorry for the kid; it isn't like he was doing some sort of over-the-top celebration. He jumped while running - that's it. It's a freak accident that ended his season. Was this a game/drive winning stop? What is the context here? Looked like they just stopped a run play.
I don't know the game scenario, so can't comment on itWas this a game/drive winning stop? What is the context here? Looked like they just stopped a run play.
It absolutely did not rise to the level of excessive celebration or showboating. “Extremely mild” is right. But what’s the difference? He still blew out his knee. These are huge guys, force equals mass times acceleration, you know. I really do feel bad for the guy but if I were a coach I’d show ten minutes of film of guys blowing out their knees after the play was over and nip that bs in the bud.I don't know the game scenario, so can't comment on it
But even if it was a routine 2nd and 8 play in the early 2nd quarter, it was an extremely mild example of "celebrating". I'm always happy to call out showboating/bad sportsmanship. This didn't nearly rise to that level
100%.I’m surprised that more athletes aren’t injured doing the stupid jump up and chest bump move that they do all the time now.
