so he used his cult to tell someone else their lifestyle was wrong. probably shouldn't have been suspended. after school suspension should have been enough to punish the bullying.

The teacher should be fired for freaking out on the kid and not encouraging the discussion. We are at the point that people can't even express their opinions anymore without having political correctness ******** thrown at them. <div>
</div><div>ETA: By work to do, I mean they are very wrong in punishing the kid and not the teacher.</div>

If he had said that as a homosexual, he believed that Christianity was wrong, would he have received or deserved a suspension?

if the teacher does have to apologize for such an obvious screw up. Same for whoever was stupid enough to approve the suspension.
Meanwhile, I'm sick of gayness in the news. If it's not an athlete having to apologize for airing his actual views, it's Chastity Bono outlasting Metta World Peace on ABC's dancing show. I mean come on, Ron!

Also, remember that FoxNews is spinning this. I'm sure the boy wasn't as "innocent" as they're making him out to be.

the one that believes in the supernatural. it happens to be followed by a lot of people that are afraid of not having finite answers to things.

Man, some of you nut jobs out there are willing to say just about anything if it helps push your psycho agendas. How anyone could read that and come away with what you said is amazing. That teacher should be fired immediately, not just for recommending that the kid be suspended, but for pushing his homosexual views on the children in his classes.

On one hand, you make a stance against intolerance; then on the other, you refer to Christianity as a cult. You do see the irony there don't you?</p>

by the way, i'm just being a jackass. of course it is ridiculous that he was suspended if he politely vocalized his opinion in the course of a class discussion or as a part of thoughtful discussion. if he did it to be mean or hateful then he deserves some type of punishment. just like the other kid should get what he would deserve if he did the same about that kids religion. just my honest opinion.

About the subject at hand, if the liberals are all about free speech and everyone has rights, that includes the Christians that they loathe so much. They disagree with Christians and do everything they can to suppress their views, their voices, their opinions, etc. But, just let a Christian actually mention to a person sitting next to them that they believe something is wrong, and the libs throw a monumental hissy fit.

It is amazing that they completely miss the hypocrisy in their own position of "tolerance".
