Now the E350 is in the shop up in Jupiter, and they've had it for a few days. I can walk to the Publix, but the keg kicked in the tapster. I need my car back.Picking up my Benz this morning and it is getting ... new tires. No walking on the beach for me though. I have to get to Memorial Hospital in FLL for an installation in the O.R.
Wife and I are in Manhattan for a little parents only trip and wanted to ask the AKB for their opinion on this situation: We drove up to Philly from VA and dropped the kids off at their grandparents while we get some R&R in NYC. We take Amtrak from Trenton and upon arriving to the newly refurbished Penn/Moynihan Station we get in the cab queue to go to the hotel. When we get in and tell the cabbie where we’re going and he says ‘That’s only a few blocks from here - you can walk.’ We have four pieces of luggage between us. We push back a bit but he doesn’t want to drive. I take a picture of his license and we get our luggage and walk to the hotel, which is about a 20 minute walk. So, I was going to report him but in doing so you agree to participate in a hearing, and not sure I want to do that. Am I the a**hole here? Or is he?
Also, got to eat at a bucket list restaurant for me - Ivan Ramen in the Lower East Side. Absolutely ridiculous ramen with tremendous umami punch. Best I’ve had. Restaurant is loud but food quality is excellent; reminds me of the tight near hallway like eateries in Shinjuku’s Golden Gai. Afterwards we went to a cocktail bar around the corner which was also very good. NYC may be my favorite city in the world…
If you haven’t seen Ivan’s episode of Netflix’s ‘Chef’s Table’ it’s worth a look; my favorite episode by far.
We have a GLE 350 needs tires/brakes and rotors... this should be a nice billNow the E350 is in the shop up in Jupiter, and they've had it for a few days. I can walk to the Publix, but the keg kicked in the tapster. I need my car back.
I think he wanted a bigger fare - it's more of a pain for him to drive you a few blocks, although I see your point with regards to the luggage. Neither of you are a-holes.
I live in the Lehigh Valley and commute to central NJ (Somerville area). I am shocked at how often I pass NYC cabs on I78.The cab driver is in the wrong:

They are also notorious for not wanting to take passengers to the outer boroughs.

Mine's a 4-Matic and along w/ the no wipers, no low beams, they had like 20 codes to clear. LOL. I'm at $3K and they aren't done yet.We have a GLE 350 needs tires/brakes and rotors... this should be a nice bill![]()
I was worried the front SAM module was shot, but it's apparently OK. That part is not something you want to replace, or pay to replace. Like everything else, things even out. Take it to the MB dealership religiously = $$$. Wing it, change your own oil w/ an extractor, and do what you can w/ youtube videos, then succumb to the codes and get it in a shop = $$$. Take your pick.Old MB is $$$ a few days in the shop DAMN
Not really that bad. 45 minutes door to door unless there’s an accident. Traffic is a lot lighter since COVID.That’s a brutal drive signed flemington rick

I love the car and I drive about 50 miles/week, so it's a keeper.

O think it was his wife not his Mom![]()
Well, if it’s so short, he can drive, drop us off, get a tip and fare and re-queue in the taxi line.

That’s not 100% not untrue i admitJust imagine sexy time ... "oh mom ... you like that?! Yeah you do! Flip over ... you're my dirty little mom, aren't you?!"
Right, @laKavosiey-st lion?
The only time I had a Benz was a rental. In Germany. We had some larger bags (we were making a presentation at a hobby show--usually we travel fairly light) and when we got to the rental car place, the agent suggested a slightly larger car for an extra 10 Euros. It was a Benz. Mrs. KG noted "When are you ever going to get to drive a Mercedes on the Autobahn?" We took it. I had it up over 100 mph at one point--near Hockenheim (German Grand Prix site) too. A C130.
