When I went home for lunch today, there were lineman on our street pulling fiber I think for Astound. Is anyone a customer yet? Haven't cut the cord yet from Xfinity to Youtube TV, wife is not fond of the guide without channel numbers. Don't see any other streamers that are any different. We know were paying to much based on how little we watch cable TV, but I do like the Xfinity interface and guide.

+1. on the xfinity interface and guide. Also channel surfing isn't nearly as easy.

Astound used to be RCN. I used RCN for 30 years and still use them for internet only. Like every other cable company, you are in great shape during the introductory period then you will pay a lot more to stay with them once the intro expires. Sometimes you can negotiate down, sometimes not.

You can probably get a lot of horror stories from other Lehigh Valley posters re: RCN.

I did know they were/are RCN. Back when phone lines were a thing I know that lots of people here in Scr/WB converted over to them from Bell/VZ. Lots seemed to always have a problem with their internet, of course that's back in the dial up days.

I don't have any problems with their internet. Admittedly, I have not done a detailed price comparisin for about 4 years, but I could probably do better.

Never heard of it . In this ever changing landscape it is hard to keep up with all services imo .

I go back to Twin County Telerama and Bark Lee Yee as owner. It was not good, but it was a monopoly in our Township. Yee sold it to RCN. Still meh. Now it’s Astound. It is astounding it is still alive. The cost starts low as an introductory come on. It accelerates to an unreasonable price point rather quickly. My best friends M-I-L and my brother pay almost $300 a month.
I have Service Electric. Better equipment, better service.

Last I checked, I couldn't get Service Electric. That may have changed now. I have debated changing, but have avoided the hassle. Maybe it's time.

I believe that WB/Kingston is Service Electric area. My niece in Kingston never had it, were using Dish. Finally cut that last month and went to Youtube TV. Her only issue seems to be the internet connection, probably not fast enough. She gets occasional buffering.
