John Carpenter’s They Live recently came up on a list of best cult movies. I always liked it but thought I was in the minority. Of course Rocky Horror is usually no. 1 on most lists of cult classics.

He never learned the first rule of what not to do when you find yourself in a hole. He is consistent, I’ll give him that.

The Endless Summer - I was a kid and we did not have cable. It was 12:00 PM on a Saturday and of the 4 stations I could get every one was was showing repeats, except for one showing movies. This documentary about surfing was on, and I got hooked.

I admit I never went to the theater in town (State College) that had it every weekend for years and I think I saw it on TV once or twice, but to me when I hear cult movie there is only one. Rocky Horror.

Did someone mention Star Trek. Main stream now but…. The cult following is ridiculous.

. Star Trek cult following actually reignited the movie demand and since this outcry in the 70’s we have how many movies? 20? And how many spin off shows? 6?
how many conventions have they had? 1000’s? Oh and Saturday morning cartoon which we all watched.

If you search for "greatest/best cult movies," you'll get lists that don't include many of the movies being mentioned in this thread.

Eminently watchable.
I know that is a big cult favorite but I just never got into it. a lot of it is Chris Tucker just freaking hate him in this.
If we are going Sci-Fi route, everyone needs to see Dark City. One of THE most underrated Sci-Fi movies in a long time.
