Yes I agree, a historic loss. They were up by two scores in the 4th QTR and still found a way to lose. I really thought they were going to upset the Lions today.

Now that McDaniels has been fired, Eberflus has taken the reign as dumbest coach in the NFL. The saddest part is that as soon as the Lions scored to make it 26-21 with 3:00 left, I turned to my friends and said that this was how the rest of the game was going to go:

--Bears receive kickoff
--They run 3 limp-d**k dives into the line and punt and never make it to the 2:00 warning because the Lions would only use 2 of their 3 timeouts
--Lions would drive down and score with around :30 left
--Bears get the ball back and Fields throws a pick to end it

I definitely didn't have a 40-yard bomb on the bingo card and I'm not surprised that Hutchinson abused the 9th overall draft pick lineman who should have never been chosen to begin with. The fact that Montgomery scored the gamewinner makes it even more hilarious. Eberflus and OC Getsy should have been deported to Canada after this one. Defense gets all those turnovers and the offensive playcalling was as vanilla as it could be. But hey, they're on track to have 2 of the top 5 draft picks!!

The Bears were up 12 points with 4 mins left, if I recall correctly. They gave up one TD and then went 3 and out with at least 2 incomplete passes. It was awful unless you’re a Lions fan.

After the Lions scored their TD, Da’ DUMB DUMB Bears needed O N E first down and the game would have been over.

Instead: two inside handoffs and a long incompletion to stop the clock and leave the Lions with their final timeout.

Da’ punt and of course the Lions drove right down the field for the victory with seconds left on the clock (courtesy of the incompletion).

Pathetic…..even for Da’ Bears.

(A shame as Fields actually looked like a QB today.)

Hey now, don’t talk about Getsy, I was banging his sister.

@ILLINOISLION Things have to get better.

I am of the opinion that whatever happens, someone creates a statistic for it, just to have a statistic.

They could have added in "for games that are played indoors, on a day when the date may have been a prime number, and both quarterbacks last name starts with a constanant" just to create another statistic.

So true. You wouldn't need any cherry picked statistical gem to know that this was a bizarre and painful loss for any Bears fan. Still, it's good fodder for the board and shows that it isn't just PSU (9-2 PSU) that's dreadful. :)

I still think fields needs to go and Da Bears draft another QB - clean house on the coaching staff as well.

Don't move those guys to Canada. The Steeler's OC is terrible without them.

Years ago I read an article about the dramatic increase in spousal abuse, and physical violence suffered by women in NFL cities after a bad team loss. Last night must have been Hell in the Windy City.

No shade, but I believe that this has been proven to be an urban myth.

That doesn’t offend me. I just remarked offhand on an article I casually read years ago. If proven inaccurate so be it. Having said that, I don’t believe reliable data can be compiled in Chicago either way. The screams of battered women after a loss (if such a phenomenon did exist) would drowned out by the sound of gunfire in the streets. Thus negating both conclusions. Or did I just open up another can of worms?
