Well....he was a pretty darned good OC under Petersen at Boise State.Hey, we could probably get him as OC.
Just too many extra curricular influences at Auburn to deal with, along with the normal HC duties. And most thought he was a good choice after his success at Boise State. There are no guarantees in picking coaches.

It was a matter of fit. He'll do okay elsewhere if he finds the right fit. Auburn had abused this man ever since he got there. They poisoned their own well. And most thought he was a good choice after his success at Boise State. There are no guarantees in picking coaches.
I came in here to say the same thing about fit. I never saw them as a good match. With how crazy and involved those Auburn boosters are, I would be leery of that job.It was a matter of fit. Yeah.....but can Deion coach....im not convinced. If Deion was going to make the jump to the big time - Auburn is basically a perfect fit for him. There are a handful of big schools where I think his schtick would work as a head coach, and that's one of them. You could guarantee top 5 recruiting classes every year (because the fanbase will pay anything to challenge Bama), and I'm sure the school will pony up for the highest assistant coach payroll in the country.

They don't like losing. That yellow cowboy guy was a customer of mine and I know how he is. Wish we had a few like him.I came in here to say the same thing about fit. I never saw them as a good match. With how crazy and involved those Auburn boosters are, I would be leery of that job.
