They never pretended it was about profit. It was all a public relations ploy. But it certainly makes some at the PGA look hypocritical. They started off with "the Saudis are evil, we will never deal with them ... how much money did you say? well that's different."

The PGA definitely checks off every box as it relates to being "hypocritical." I mean, they were saying this stuff last month - not years ago.

But clearly everyone has a price.

We all purchase things that come from the Saudi and China mostly without knowledge. This was done for the future of golf not for the moment. Ten years from now most of the LIV guys and top players on the Tour will be past their prime as far as golf goes. Does the Tour and their players have a little egg on their face, sure, but they will all make much more money then they ever have down the road. We do need to wait until all the dust settles before making judgment.

I think the narrative from the PGA Tour had more to do with future dealings with the players who left and the distinctions between the way these tours conduct tournaments than anything to do with the Saudis.

Why do the players who remained loyal to the PGA and stood against Saudi have egg on their face? The PGA players did nothing wrong. I admire their stand. I certainly do not admire PGA officials. They threw their own players under the bus. They recruited players to publicly support their anti-LIV views and then without even giving them a heads-up…got in bed with LIV!

I enjoyed the grind of the PGA. Players in Q-School, earning their tour card, keeping their tour card, making the cut or going home. Pay based upon results. 72 hole competition.

LIV is exhibition golf. More like an NBA All-Star game.

Hope you're correct. It sounds to me the PGA got money whipped by the Saudi's which is no surprise. What happens if down the road the Saudi people decide to pull out and the whole thing starts again?
It just sounds to me the PGA doesn't have the money to fight a battle.

Oh, I agree with that. There's more than one facet at play. I keep going back and forth on it.
