Lavender is an active member of the National Association for Athletic Advisors, Minority Opportunities Athletic Association and Women Leaders in College Sports. She is also involved in the Women Leaders Institute for Administrative Advancement development program.
FWIW:
LSU has the lowest graduation rate for athletes in the entire SEC, and the 2nd lowest in the nation among P5 schools (Texas Tech managed to surpass LSU last year, and take the last place trophy) :

Look/sort under FGR (that stands for Federal Graduation rate - the metric that is actually "What percentage of your student-athletes graduate?")
Not only that, they have been the absolute worst in the SEC every year for four years in a row (Five years ago, Arkansas beat them out for last place)
As was well-publicized last year, PSU's academic performance within ICA has been in steep decline over the last several years. Hopefully, this will be one of many actions that will turn that ship around. A bold strategy.
