OT: Saban gets turned down

It hasn't happened very often that Nick doesn't get his guy. And the Bama OC/DC jobs have been a perpetual steppingstone for HC gigs. It's not a huge deal, of course, but it's kind of a bad look since Bama is pretty much used to getting their top pick.

Saban needs to channel Brady.

Not often to Saban. Given the team's perceived drop-off and the overall unSaban-like performance, with undisciplined play and uncharacteristic poor defense, then coupled with the loss of both coordinators, this is viewed as another chink in the once impregnable Bama armor. Folks are supposed to line up to coach for Saban. Not choose to stay in the Big 12.

I thought he should have called it after his last title. He etched his name forever as arguably the greatest coach of all time. There was really nowhere to go but down. He almost pulled one out of his fanny two seasons ago, but there was a significant drop-off (significant for Bama) this past season.
