Anyone noticing that Trump's Justice pick, Amy Barrett, seems to be always siding with the liberals on the court. I have a feeling she may be one of those "recommendations" from a Deep State confidant to Trump in his first term where he wasn't that familiar with who to choose. What should be a 6-3 court in favor of conservatives appears to now only be a 5-4 court in actuality. I think she's a Liberal in Conservative's clothing. Of course, I expect this thread to get locked rather quickly by our thin-skinned moderator.

Yep. It was an ingenious move by the Deep State. She would join the court and throw everyone off by being one of the leading voices in overturning Roe v. Wade.

She intrepid the law. She sides with Trump a lot. It's Roberts who goes against the trend the most. You know how the three Liberal Judges are going to go almost 95% of the time. It's Roberts, Gorsuch and Barrett that will throw you a curve ball.
Especially Roberts and Barrett. I don't feel as bad with Gorsuch on most issues, but he has gone against the grain on a few.
I'm going to need a update on what is considered "conservative" these days. Seems like being a conservative now is doing whatever Trump says.

I thumbsed-upped because yes, it's a noticeable pattern with Barrett. Seems like she was appointed specifically for that one reason (shma-shmortion) but past that she's leaned left a lot of the time. But I would agree with whoever said Roberts has been the worst (or best, for my squad member friends).
Can you explain what her dissent was about yesterday and why you disagree with it?
SCOTUS should side with the constitution instead of either the liberal or conservative agenda of the moment.
She's hardcore catholic. She would treat MS13 gang members like downtrodden refugees in need of charity right up to the point they cut her throat. That doesn't mean she's a liberal.
I'd rather see all of them defending the constitution than resorting to ideology.

This is usually the same people who defend the trampling of the constitution for the 4 years prior by censoring social media, trying to put political opponents in jail, and running the country with a shadow government while propping up a guy who didn't know what day it was.

Trump isn't a conservative. Trump is largely ignorant of how much of government works. It was fine in his first term because he had experienced people, rather than just loyal people, around him. Trump has no clue what judge to pick, neither do most Republicans, so the Federalist Society keeps tabs on potential SC recommendations and that's who gets chosen. MAGA is about loyalty to Trump and not loyalty to principles. Conservative SC justices don't all think alike (liberal justices are more likely to, though). I suspect the MAGA opposition to ABC isn't from constitutional law scholars and those with a keen understanding of the history of the Supreme Court. Of course it's possible for some conservative justices to move left after some time on the court.
You should stick to the news, the editorial department needs improvement.

It’s not thin skinned, it’s a rule of the board. If you want to post political threads go to the politics board and I’ll leave this open to allow you to respond. You do realize that nearly all of the mods are conservative and they are the ones that normally lock the threads. Since we are no longer threaded view I tend to let them go because in between you politicos throwing feces at each other there are reasonable economic discussions within those threads that some of us find informative.
