And a lot of the artists in the 80’s made their worst music in the 70’s. Some bands get better as they go and some get worse. The 80’s offered the widest variety of music of any decade ever. The decade started off slow (80 and 81 being the two worst years) then crushed it the rest of the decade.
Im not going to get into a an argument about subjective tastes because it’s silly to do. The “80s” sound was crappy and artificial sounding to me. I don’t like it. I know there was was a wide variety of music made then, as there always has been and continues to be. I do bot think the 80s was any more so than others. But my point was some of my favorite artists made good music before and after but made some of that artificial sounding music in the 80s that I don’t like. But as I always say, if you like it listen to the hell out of it. I don’t begrudge anybody their choice of music. Tastes vary.

I agree tastes vary and I like music from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and the 90’s, but there is little argument among music people that the 80’s offered far more variety than any other decade. Yes, there was a lot of electronic music, but there was a lot that wasn’t. There was also a second English invasion that brought a ton of good music. Throw in Punk rock, prog rock, rap music, hair metal, etc etc and you have a large variety to choose from. To narrow it down to just “artificial sounding” is really only looking at one style of music from the decade.

I’m not going to argue with you, just simply disagree. And none of that refutes my original point that a lot of my favorite artists made their worst music in the 80s.
