That link is pure gold
"What’s next for InfoWars remains a live issue. The excess funds initially allocated for the purchase will be reinvested into our philanthropic efforts that include business school scholarships for promising cult leaders, a charity that donates elections to at-risk third world dictators, and a new pro bono program pairing orphans with stable factory jobs at no cost to the factories."

The Onion has lost its earlier edge...and, yet, it still generates enough money to purchase a once popular, conspiracy theory laden, fake news site.
Well, the onion's bid was funded by someone else.

It is funny to me that the Sandy Hook victims who received the huge payouts are now using it to put Alex Jones out of business.

At the risk of exposing how unplugged I am, what does Alex Jones have to do with Sandy Hook?

Yes, I can Google.
No, I don’t want to.

How very pro 1A of you.****
My post was said I am happy that a dangerous liar is bankrupt and deplatformed.
My post also said there are many more dangerous liars to go before disinformation and harmful lies are reduced.
You then criticize my post because it is not supportive of 1A.

Given this...do you think Alex Jones should have won his case against Sandy Hook families and continued on?
- If you do think that...well 17 thats bonkers.
- If you dont think that...then dont sarcastically respond in a way that makes it seem like you support Jones' legal position.

Keep in mind that Jones gave up any attempt at a 1A argument because he chose to not submit documents he was required to submit. Further, unprotected defamation is a very real thing. My comment about reducing dangerous conspiracy theories and dangerous hate was referring to issues of unprotected defamation.

He lost a lawsuit by their parents because he lied to his listeners, telling them the Sandy Hook tragedy did not happen.

Exactly that. Said it was faked by the government.
It was worse. He basically mobilized his listeners to investigate and find proof it was fake. They harassed, defamed, and threatened the families for years. One of them tried to dig up a kids grave to prove there was no one in it.

Do you think people who say 9/11 was faked or done by our own government should get sued into oblivion?

what about people saying the moon landing is fake?

No I don't think people who say those things should be sued into oblivion.
I directly answered your question.
So now please directly answer mine.

Do you think what Alex Jones was sued for and made a career off of is equal to just saying 9/11 was an inside job or the moon landing was faked?

The lawsuit was for defamation. He made direct comments about the families that caused harm and put them in danger. He also doubled down on it multiple times. You can’t just say lies about people that harm them and there not be consequences.

The people who claim 9/11 of the moon landing was fake are just idiots.

You are the one saying this is systemic and that heads need to be cut off to kill all of the snakes. I have never listened to nor do I know anyone who listened to Info Wars. I could literally give two $h1ts about him. You are the one saying peoples lives need to be destroyed and deplatformed. I am just curious who you think "Medusa's Head" is? While I am asking about deplatforming, what platforms need to be removed?

You criticized me and said I am unsupportive of 1A because I think it was good that Alex Jones lost his court case and went bankrupt.

Answer that first. Again, in a discussion there is back and forth. I posted, you responded with criticism, I asked a question, and you have since I gored the question and asked multiple questions.

I don’t really know what to say to that.

Negative. Go back to your original post. I criticized you because you said he was simply one snake on a head and the head needs to be cut off. Who or what platform is the head? Again, I have never listened to Alex Jones. You alluded that this is a much bigger problem. How big is this problem since he is just one small part of it?
