That link is pure gold
"What’s next for InfoWars remains a live issue. The excess funds initially allocated for the purchase will be reinvested into our philanthropic efforts that include business school scholarships for promising cult leaders, a charity that donates elections to at-risk third world dictators, and a new pro bono program pairing orphans with stable factory jobs at no cost to the factories."

The Onion has lost its earlier edge...and, yet, it still generates enough money to purchase a once popular, conspiracy theory laden, fake news site.
Well, the onion's bid was funded by someone else.

It is funny to me that the Sandy Hook victims who received the huge payouts are now using it to put Alex Jones out of business.

At the risk of exposing how unplugged I am, what does Alex Jones have to do with Sandy Hook?

Yes, I can Google.
No, I don’t want to.

How very pro 1A of you.****
My post was said I am happy that a dangerous liar is bankrupt and deplatformed.
My post also said there are many more dangerous liars to go before disinformation and harmful lies are reduced.
You then criticize my post because it is not supportive of 1A.

Given this...do you think Alex Jones should have won his case against Sandy Hook families and continued on?
- If you do think that...well 17 thats bonkers.
- If you dont think that...then dont sarcastically respond in a way that makes it seem like you support Jones' legal position.

Keep in mind that Jones gave up any attempt at a 1A argument because he chose to not submit documents he was required to submit. Further, unprotected defamation is a very real thing. My comment about reducing dangerous conspiracy theories and dangerous hate was referring to issues of unprotected defamation.

He lost a lawsuit by their parents because he lied to his listeners, telling them the Sandy Hook tragedy did not happen.

Exactly that. Said it was faked by the government.
It was worse. He basically mobilized his listeners to investigate and find proof it was fake. They harassed, defamed, and threatened the families for years. One of them tried to dig up a kids grave to prove there was no one in it.

It's lost its humor as legitimate news headlines and articles have become more and more like something in The Onion
