Jarts. My neighbor buddy got stuck in the shoulder with one by his older brother. Eventually they were banned.

When I was growing up I had a bad habit of dashing into the street and nearly getting run over. It happened quite a bit, actually. It once happened twice in one week, both times with my father watching the whole incident play out in front of his horrified eyes. Anyway, this was one of the contributing factors of my not getting a bike until I was nine years old.

I had a Monday Night Football Game that was a lot of fun...

I had that as well...loved it.

But there was one dilemma with it....there was one defensive play that stopped like 95% of the offensive plays for a loss. It became more about trying to fake each other out that you weren't calling "that play" than actually picking a defense suitable to down and distance.

Edit...Two dilemmas....had a Dallas Cowboy on the box

A personal favorite of mine was twister. I was always amazed at how popular this game was when I was a kid. The only issue was taping it on a surface where it wouldn’t move.

I had this and ran it off our 2nd floor roof onto the driveway. Good fun.

When weather was good we played outside. Fb, bb, hoops, kickball, skateboarding, etc. If stuck indoors we raced slot cars. We built a track with trains too on a ping-pong table and 2 four foot folding tables. Included a mountain that both cars and trains traversed, baseball field, cemetary and a bunch of other stuff. We even painted the basement walls to be the sky.

If you carefully fold a roll of caps such that each dot is stacked on top of another, like an accordion, over a pin that protruds through each dot you can make a firecracker. You need to pull the pin out slowly so that heat doesn't build up, and then make one small wrap with masking tape to hold it tightly together. Light the masking tape and step back.

This is one trick I didn't teach my kids.

For some reason this brought to mind Still Life With Woodpecker. @Woodpecker
