Well if not, then what the 17 is he making $10 million a year for? If he can’t singlehandedly shape policy and direction for the organization from Day 1, he’s not worth any of that money. We wouldn’t say of Jeff Lebby in 2027, “well, the fact that we’ve straight up sucked for 4 years is due to decisions made and personnel brought in before he was hired.”

Unless of course…..you’re telling me that most all these megacorp upper level execs / CEO’s just get to where they are from being the most loyal subscribers to the corporate groupthink and simply are just the best at office politics and connections….and in fact are just empty suits that don’t add ANYTHING of value other than just being the next in line to tote the same rehashed and rebranded nonsense as the previous empty suit. But surely you couldn’t be saying that….
He’s worth what the market is willing to pay.

I certainly think it’s too high but the shareholders at UHC clearly don’t.

I've delt with insurance companies for years on a daily basis. I think they randomly deny a certain % of claims just because they know that a lot of people won't pursue it. The excuses they use just don't matter, the usual ones are they never got the claim or that the person isn't enrolled. On the last one never mind that they paid another claim on them last week. You just have to stick to your guns. They will almost always pay when pressed unless there is an obvious reason not to.

It was a normal semi auto pistol with a suppressor that had been set up poorly. It was not a veterinarian gun
Not sure if valid, but a couple of folks on Reddit were saying they thought it was a very particular bolt action pistol that was used, and the gun wasn’t actually jamming at all….he was just pulling the bolt each time between shots.

Apparently this is a particular model that specializes in firing high velocity rounds through a suppressor and won’t ever jam, and is something you would just about only use as a surprise attacker / assassin because you’d be limited to only a few shots and wouldn’t be able to fire off rounds near fast enough in a self-defense situation.

As an aside, it seems that all the legacy media and NYPD are all going out of their way to make this look like it’s NOT a professional hit….and they’re all doing a terrible job at it. Almost like if they highlight all these perceived mistakes this guy made that they’ll inspire some confidence the guy will be caught eventually. But in reality they have absolutely nothing. The latest backpack finding is a great example. They “still don’t know what’s in the backpack” and “aren’t opening it”, but they’re sending it off for forensic analysis which will take several days. I mean, if they are taking that course if action, they certainly know what’s NOT in it, right? But they won’t come out and say that even though its extremely relevant. What isn’t said and is left to the reader / viewer to infer is always interesting.

im just agreeing that it is wrong to celebrate someones murder until you know all of the facts. you really actually think that this man sits alone in an ivory tower and goes over every single claim. i love my insurance comp. i had 3 surgeries in 2019 that totaled over $165,0000 and i paid a $1,000 deductable . sounds like your insurance company just bent you over and had their way with you. remember , YOU have to bend over to get FU--ED. so stop wishing death on excutives and change your fu--ing health plan if you dislike it so much.

I don’t think he handles all the claims (or any of them). But UHC’s claim denial rate has skyrocketed under the past 3-4 years under his leadership. I was just saying I think its pretty naive to believe that happening is a coincidence or something that just carried over from previous leadership. But if you do believe that, you’d have to also believe that he personally doesn’t have much value as a CEO as far as guiding the company towards whatever objectives are important to the company. That is something that can be true in some companies, but honestly I find it impossible to be true in an organization the size of UHC. They are far too big to be able to hide poor leadership….from a financial perspective.

And I haven’t had any bad horror stories with my insurance either. I don’t have and have never had UHC so I can’t speak personally on their business practices. And I’m not celebrating the murder at all. But I do know quite a few people that have been left in a really bad way by some combination of their insurance coverage and Big Pharma doing Big Pharma things…..and currently have such a situation in my extended family happening right now actually.

That s cool dude, I got you. Im sure that the CEO probably does have some knowledge but what i was trying to say was there were algorithms set in place years before. I did not know anything about the last 3-4 years claim rate. I had spent the last 10 minutes trying to find out who the last CEO was there and for how long. Couldn't find anything except about the deceased CEO. I know the Wall Street CEO's are basically there years and years or until they F up or die.
I have actually been at the same job since April 1988 and I had UHC for a few years but at the time i was pretty young and in halfway decent shape so I never really had to use it. I have had Blue Cross for about the last 15 years or so and have never had a problem with them. My younger years are catching up with me now so my meds run around $3,000 a month and they pay every penny of that month after month after month. I guess I didn't really understand that there was serious problems in the healthcare industry.
Anyway, apologies for my response earlier.

Some thought it was a Welrod (what I believe you’re talking about) but that looks to have been debunked
