Here's one of the positive reasons for US Open qualifying. Rock always seemed like a good dude on the DP World Tour, qualified in England a couple weeks ago

Going to be very warm for rounds 2-4. Scottie not on his game today. Can Rory hang on on for the next three rounds?

Like him or not, Dechambeau is the most entertaining guy out there, and he doesn't play the tour. His youtube videos are always good.

Was invited back in 1999 to the US Open in Pinehurst when Payne Stewart beat Phil. Friend was the general manager of all lodgings at Pinehurst, and in that position gave us all access passes to everywhere on the grounds except for the players locker rooms. Watched Phil and Payne until the 16th, then ran back to the clubhouse and got out onto the balcony overlooking the 18th green. Was standing directly behind the seated USGA President when the drama unfurled. There was 6 of us standing there looking at each other like..."What the fook are we doing here".... Outstanding venue! Hope all that are going have a great time

Like many others, different golf course now. I get it (they don't want -20 to win), but there used to be some rough, not scrub right off the fairways. The greens were obviously crowned back then - Ross grew up at Dornoch where they are really crowned. Now PH2 greens AND fairways are crowned, and the greens are much higher.

Used to stay at The Manor Hotel. Great place. Drinks at the Pine Crest.

Donald Ross on steroids at #2. Surprised the scores are as low as they are.
These guys hook it into the fairway bunker but somehow their ball finds an open spot between the clumps of wiregrass. My ball would most likely come to rest right in the middle of that stuff. There's no justice in that friggin game.

How Zach Johnson never considered Bryson for the Ryder Cup team was outrageous!

Rory and Cantlay are paired together tomorrow. Interesting pairing, as these two had some bad blood at the Ryder Cup. Can only think this helps Bryson tomorrow. I'm afraid it will turn into a Bryson coronation on the back nine with very little drama.

Maybe, kind of looks that way, but Bryson let everybody back in with that double on 16. Anybody but Mic Elroy.

He's actually exactly what the game needs - someone interesting, complicated, emotional, personable. Just last week he posted a youtube video of himself playing 9 holes w/ hickory shafted clubs.

He, Horvat, and the others (including the golf babes) make me wonder if the golf content has caught up to cat content on youtube.

Also, if you can do this, well...

As far as what they've done to this once wonderful golf course (turned it into Chambers Bay somehow), two words:

With Faxon being Rory's putting coach, is there a little bias in the NBC booth? Not even factoring in the anti-Liv angle.

I'd only resort to Faxon if I scraped it around (like he did) for 72 holes and needed to make everything I looked at to eat. I kid. Sort of.

Never thought I'd say this, but I wish this Rory/Bryson back nine matchup was on a better golf course.

Not sure why the manufacturers wouldn't put this mark on the ball.
There is probably some rule that they cannot. But if not, they could sell that for a premium and it would be relatively easy to add it to the manufacturing process.

Salt on your balls has been known to prevent shrinkage!

Iā€™m really enjoying watching this tournament. The back and forth competition has been great, and who knows, maybe coming down the stretch we may see some drama. I really have no favorite so whether itā€™s McIlroy or DeChambeau, Itā€™s all good.

Bryson has a ruuttt problem on 18. Rory couldn't drop in the ocean when it mattered.

Bryson wins the open. Well done. 2 majors in a row he had a chance to win and Bryson gets over the finish line this time. Well done.

I think I saw Horvat in his crew - which looked like youtubers, not LIVers or PGAers...
