Always felt Rory’s hype didn’t match the results, so I’m not surprised to see such wonderful sportsmanship (ie stiffing the media and peeling out of the lot like a crybaby) after the tournament.

Did you see Rory shake his hand? Maybe I missed it.
Nope…nor did I see him stiff Bryson as he was “waiting” for Rory.

I just wouldn’t pass of as facts stuff from a website citing a “USGA reporter” (as if there is such a thing), when that account lists itself as “satire” and compares itself to The Onion.

You think Bryson would have waited and shook Rory's hand had the roles been reversed? I do.

2024 Bryson? I’d think he’d make sure to do it in front of the cameras. Many guys would do it behind the scenes (ie, in the Champions Locker Room).

It’s usually a non-issue, but suddenly some seem to have a hard on for bashing Rory. Where is the evidence of Aberg’s handshake with Scheffler at the Masters? There likely isn’t, because no one usually gives a F.

Bryson won the day - in every way imaginable. As I've said this isn't liv vs pga tour, it's youtube. Bryson is likeable because of youtube. He was playing 9 holes w/ hickory shafts in a shirt and tie just last week on youtube.

I like Rory. I don't understand Ernie selling his house to him, but he's ok. Not Ernie ok, but ok.

Just got home from Pinehurst. For those think Rory choked, I thought that Rory played very well today, just missed a putt on 18. Bryson would have run away with it but didn't drive the ball very well. For those who don't like Bryson, the crowd loved Bryson and he played to it regardless of how he was playing.

On a less controversial note, I was wearing a Penn State hat today and got a handful of We Are's. I was wearing a pair of Penn State Nike's and one of the volunteers in the grandstand on 4 was wearing a pair, as well.

Euro golfers are such poor losers.

They come over to the US for a free college degree, turn pro and then pout when they don’t win anything other than that goofy Ryder cup.

Pshaw with them

Not all. If you ever take me away from watching Emily Pedersen practice while I'm supposed to be working, we'll have a problem. If any of you want to root for an lpga win this year, root for her. She may be the nicest person I've ever been around - in and out of golf. And she works so hard.

When you see the work they put in not add up, it makes you sad. With Eric last year and his ROY, and Lucas' late run - it makes you happy. I really want to be happy for Emily.

Rory bogeyed 3 of the last 4 holes. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck; it’s a duck. Rory flat out choked.

He may have played well most of the day, but when you’re up 2 with 5 to go, and you bogey 3 of the last 4 including 2 missed putts inside 5 feet…well it’s really hard to call that anything other than a choke.

The willingness- eagerness even- that some people show for believing anything that they see or hear (as long as they enjoy seeing or hearing it) says volumes about where we are today.

He definitely had the yips. So tough when that happens to you. You Almost wish the cup was 3 feet wide. Saying that he missed a couple of the last greens. Rory was hot but I was waiting for him to hit some rough patches as Bryson did and come back from those. He definitely was in his head the last 4 holes.

. It is the last day of major and tension was abound for the top ten yesterday. Rory was 4 under and you knew that wouldn’t last as basically no one was -4 on Sunday. He missed his drive and par 3 tee shots and then the putter. Ouch.

Hopefully this outcome amps up the pressure for the PGA and LIV to work something out

Golf needs the best players in the same tournaments more than 4 times a year

Bryson has made the best face turn since Sgt. Slaughter. He's bringing back the showmanship and excitement that we haven't seen since Tiger's demise.

Exactly. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing Monagan’s mouthpiece gaffe it up to a LIV golfer.

And many forget that it's the U.S. against a whole continent in the Ryder cup where the total populations are almost 2 1/2 times difference. Europe 747 million....U.S. 335 million

Still trying to grasp getting up and down from there to win a US Open on the 72nd hole.

Interesting fact not many know that Rory committed to East Tennessee St. and signed a LOI along with taking the SAT's but backed out at the last minute and opted to turn pro. ETSU had an underground railroad with college players coming there from Ireland.

That range sand or not is my most difficult shot. Just don't practice it enough to get that feel and how hard to swing with the distance dialed in....
I'm picking that clean and just trying to bump it up on the green. Especially w/ all those clubhouse windows in the background. Imagine that shot at Troon where the clubhouse is almost in play.

That many people watching me and the U.S. Open on the line... I am skulling that shot like a missile right through one of the clubhouse windows.... :ROFLMAO:

I thought the same thing...I'm probably playing a 9 iron, picking it clean, and hoping I've got the touch to give myself a putt at it. Though the false front and firmness of the greens make the margin of error so tiny.

I was playing as a guest at Concord CC in West Chester a few years ago on 18 where there was a back pin, and then there is a couple of paces of rough, the cart path, and then the restaurant deck/clubhouse. One of the other guests in our group skulled one out of the trap (he was a pretty good player that shot about a 78 that day) to the half-full deck...ball hit a table, shot off the window (that god they are plexiglass), then pinballed back across the deck and hit the railing, shot back to the window and hit it again, and came to rest on the deck after hitting one more table. Thankfully (and miraculously) no one was hit...though it did a number to his wallet as he bought a round for everyone on the deck.
