No. Actually the ACC turned him into what he is. It is a finesse league, where game scores are usually in the 50’s to low 60’s. He is not and will never be a physical player.

I respectfully disagree. Brooks is soft. Refuses to take his 6’10” frame inside the paint. All he wants to do is shoot 3’s. When tolu returns, matthews need to start at the 4. Relegate Brooks to bench duty.

Every time I see an ACC score its 90-something to 80-something. They don't play defense in the ACC. I'll agree with you it's a finesse league, but you're not accurate on game scores.

He was a BEAST. One of the best rebounders we ever had.

He’s actually 2nd behind Smith in rebounding, but Davis, Matthews, and Garcia all out rebound him per minute played as well. He had 4 rebounds against a smaller Texas tech team and at least one of ‘em fell into his arms because he was loitering around the 3 point line, just where you want your bigs to be. And his D leaves a lot to be desired. He was benched in the 1st half for his D.

If you are looking for just superstars in the portal, then you are looking at it wrong. There were a bunch of other portal guys that started or at least played besides Polk.

Cole Smith and Scott Lashley - started and on two deep all year

Chance Lovertich gave us our #2 QB last year

Jamire Calvin helped us immensely especially early on last year and he aided in the development of our younger WR's.

Defensely these guys contributed big time. Green and Charlton and Ruiz was a dang good kicker until he was injured.

I don't get all this portal hate. Every Portal guy we took last year helped us unless they were injured. Even the three QB's (one scholarship) helped. We needed extra arms in practice and we needed a serviceable backup. We will never know if Abraham could have started over Will, he was never healthy.

Probably ever 2022 portal guy we take will at least be in our two deep next year and I can see 4 or 5 starting and being the best we have at a position. That's a lot of representation from the Portal to say it has not been a big help.

Nah it’s all Cohen’s fault we haven’t found the next Pat Mahomes, Aaron Donald, JJ Watt and Davante Adams in the portal.
